Firefox Portable

The Customize Google addon has stopped working correctly in Firefox Portable 3.*. It works fine in the normal vesion of Firefox, but in the portable version it does not remove ads from the search results page. Ugh. I have verified on several different machines that with a fresh install with default settings across the board and only the Customize Google addon installed the problem only occurs in FF Portable. Is there something different between the two versions that would cause this? Is anyone else having this problem?

Some sites, http://www.gmail.com, http://addons.mozilla.org, and http://sourceforge.net for example, work fine on my native install of Firefox 2.0.0.16, but not on the portable version I have on my flash drive. I have no clue why. Any help would be appreciated.

This may be a stupid question, but there isn t any stupid question .. :out:
i m missing "back-forward" button in FF3 portable.
I cannot add it in the "customize toolbar" window (Right click in the toolbars / "customize ...")

When I attempt to start Portable Firefox 3.0.1 with multiple tabs, using the "AdditionalParameters=http://www.yahoo.com|http://www.google.com" line in the FirefoxPortable.ini file, it fails to open the first tab and doesn't open the additional tab(s).

After investigating this further, I see that any colon after the initial colon is being removed.

How does one disable the annoying Firefox 3 Portableapps splash screen?

We all want to be closer to God, but this is hardly the way to draw His attention - or anyone else's for that matter

A Web search produced only suggestions on how to do it in previous versions, and they don't seem to work.

I have just found the range of s/w available to run on my USB drive and am having so much fun with it.

I have installed Firefox and a number of add-ons.

This morning I was setting up some of my important bookmarks within the All-in-One sidebar toolbar. When I then loaded up on my computer at work none of the bookmarks were there. They were not on the Bookmarks toolbar or on the All-in-One Sidebar.

Can anyone give me some help with this.

How can I migrate FireFox 3.0.1 Desktop Edition profile information to the portable edition? I want to copy bookmarks, passwords, cookies, plugins, etc from the desktop edition profile to the portable edition.

How can I do that?

I want to redistribute Firefox on a CD along with a big folder hierarchy full of HTML pages, images, PDF files, etc.

FirefoxPortable seems ideal for the job, because it's free, easily and completely customisable, etc.

The problem is, when launching FirefoxPortable from CD, it takes a *long* time to start. I'm talking about 30 seconds, on some computers even nearly a minute. The bottleneck doesn't seem to be the CD drive though - it seems as if a lot of things need to be processed to create a temporary profile in the temporary directory.

This is not a problem for me, but it may be of interest to John or other users:

I have discovered that when your portable drive's drive letter changes, the "save files to" path in the options does not change with it.

any fixes?
