Flash and Shockwave Problems

Submitted by LittleUnkn0wn on August 8, 2007 - 10:05am

I've found the instructions for installing them on FF Portable here, and I tried to follow them. I get errors downloading the Flash extension and I wasn't given the option to redirect the Shockwave installation. So I tried the "more geeky" instructions, but I couldn't find any of the files specified. Any help?

Installing the Flash plugin

I have some problems with the Flash 9.0 plugin for Windows, which you can get here:
http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html#Flash

I can install the xpi and Flash works fine, but Firefox Portable doesn't install the plugin in /Data/plugins (even though this directory contains a text file that says "put plugins here").
Firefox Portable installs the Flash plugin on the c: drive.

Which files do I have to put in Data/plugins, the xpi or its contents?

Firefoxportable not using the included profile

Submitted by etiger13 on August 6, 2007 - 7:13pm

I am trying to use Firefox from a CD. I got it to autorun and everything but now I am trying to get it to use the bundled Sumatra PDF portable as the default PDF reader. However, whenever I launch FFP, it grabs the profile from the Firefox installed on the machine, which happens to have Acrobat reader installed. When I am in FPP and go to the manage extensions screen, it shows all the extensions for the host Firefox, not the few that are included in FFP. How can I get FFP to use Sumatra from the CD?

Firefox leaves a trail

I've found another instance of PortableApps being not quite invisible. If you download an image using r-click in Firefox, then the image shows up in the Recent directory on the host machine (as in Start -> Documents -> list of recent documents).

Can anything be done to stop this happening?
