Firefox Portable

importing passwords

Submitted by mountainmom on March 18, 2007 - 6:50pm

I've read the explanation on the support page and I know how to find my profile and my password settings for Firefox (on my computer). What I can't figure out is where to copy them to on my flash U3 drive. The explanation says to copy them to the FirefoxPortable\Data\settings directory. Where is that and how do I find it? Thank you.

My firefox is not working...

Submitted by swcrazyfan on March 16, 2007 - 10:55am

I have been using Firefox portable for a couple months now, but all of a sudden I open up Firefox one day and all of my bookmarks are not showing up, and neither are my extensions. It seems that all of my info had been erased. However, I looked inside the data folder, and all of my info is still there. I tried downloading another copy of Firefox, and it seemed to work, but then when I closed it, Firefox reset again and it had the same problem.

Moving PFF

Hi there,

This is probably a no-brainer, but is it possible to pick up your PFF installation and place it straight onto another portable device? I only have one USB key so can't test this for sure.

Cheers,

Matt

Google search fails to work on Fx 2.0.0.2

Submitted by felipe1982 on March 14, 2007 - 4:44pm

After hitting Ctrl + K and running a search, and pressing enter, nothing happens! I have tried saving my bookmarks, erasing the entire firefoxportable directory, and reinstalling, but it doesn't solve the problem. I would really like the Google search back. I do a lot of research online.

Please help. I can provide any information necessary.

Firefox Tree Structure

Submitted by Riyonuk on March 14, 2007 - 12:10pm

I guess thats what you call it, I would like to know why it is how it is. I mean there are many of the same folders, such as

F:\FirefoxPortable\App\DefaultData\plugins
F:\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\plugins
F:\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins

Why is it like this? Were they made that way incase there are multiple profiles? I couldnt see there being more than one profile on a portable firefox.

Cannot watch clips on youtube

Submitted by sarahgellar33 on March 14, 2007 - 9:53am

Hello,
I am using portable firefox now. However, when I go to youtube and try to watch some clips, it always shows that "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player."

I have downloaded and installed the latest flash player but it still doesn't work. I have no problem watching clips with IE on my computer. Can anyone suggest me how to correct this problem? Cheers.
