Manual caching?

Hi all. I'm travelling round the world at the moment, and have just come across FFP - brilliant, as now I don't have to use IE in all the internet cafes! Anyway, my question is this:

Firefox Portable not fully exit. Please help!!!

Submitted by cshong on January 17, 2007 - 6:50am

I had installed Firefox Portable in my USB drive. I am using Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2 while running Firefox Portable.

My computer is only running Firefox Portable. Firefox Portable not fully exit after I press the close button. After I press the close button on the right top of Firefox Portable, then run Safely Remove Hardware before unplug my USB drive, an error message "the device ..... cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping .....". Then, I run Windows Task Manager and click the 'Processes' tab, I see that firefox.exe process is still running.

The connection has timed out

I 've a problem with firefox portable while using it on my computer.
Cannot load any page.
I 've used it on my school's computer and there is no problem.
I use a DSL connection.
In the "how firefox connects to the internet" field it's chosen "direct connection"
(I 've tried to change this but with no response).
I use the Zone alarm antivirus.
The application is installed on a flash drive but I 've tried to use it installed on my hard drive and the same problem appears.

New PFF still uses old nssckbi.dll location

Submitted by PollieXmas on January 16, 2007 - 3:25am

Hi Guys,

I tried to delete my old copy of PFF "\Portable Program Files\FireFox Portable", but the app\firefox\nssckbi.dll file was still in use.

This means that my PFF in the portable apps menu (which was migrated from to other location) is still referencing that file.

When I did manage to delete the entire directory, running PFF from the apps menu simply re-creates it in the old location.

This is really strange as I thought all locations would be relative to the location it is being executed from.

disabling "do you want to update" box

Submitted by lavaboy on January 15, 2007 - 12:24pm

is there any way of disabling the box which comes up and asks me if i want to update firefox? normally it appears when i´m mid-typing and i automatically select "yes" without wanting to. this then slows everything down and also makes me reinstall firefox because the update inevitably doesn`t work.

especially annoying when the current version of firefox portable is being used!

thanks for any help

Some Sites doesn't be loaded

Submitted by pinguin on January 15, 2007 - 2:26am

Hi,

i had some trouble with my FF Portable.

FF runs on an USB Stick behind a Proxy and Firewall. My Networksetting are over a automatic Proxyconfiguration.

Some site, e.g. heise.de mail.google.com and so on, dosen't be loaded. Over the local IE does it. The Proxy is for IE the same. So the Proxy isn't the problem.

Anybody an idea whats the problem is?

I did not find any similarities of the pages wich dind't be show.

Thanks and sorry for the bad english Wink
