Hi all. Can someone advise me on something? From time to time, the following file is left on the host computer. \%userprofile%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\pluginreg.dat
Most of the time, it is deleted after MF,PE close, but once in a while after installing or deleting an extension, it is left behind. Does anyone have any ideas why? I have the following extensions installed:
MySpell (French)
DOM Inspector
Download Statusbar
FireFTP
FoxyProxy
infoRSS
PermaTabs
Also, there seems to be one registry entry left behind. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mozilla.org\Mozilla
If I start a download in FF and close FF, the download continues. But if I start a download in FFP and close FFP, the download disappears.
Also, I can run (in this order) AVG Anti-Spyware, Spybot, and Adaware. Then surf for an hour in FFP from a folder on my HDD. Then the programs pick up spyware. Would this happen from the thumb drive? I never Spyware scan my thumb drive. Should I?
Is it possible to set it up so that your cookies are stored on the USB drive only?
If I login to a web page on portable Firefox, off my USB drive and click 'remember login' - and then open up the same page in Firefox but stored on the computer; I'm still logged in.
Is it possible to do anything about this?
Thanks in advance
I had noticed that when i use portable firefox on phpBB based forums when i see that i have unread topics and enter discussion all unread topics already are "read". This strange behaviour doesn't present in not portable version of FireFox. I haven't checked on other type of forums.
Has anyone noticed this strange behaviour? Is there any config settings to disable this "auto read all" thing?
Hi!
When trying yo save Web pages appears the following message: "the . . . (file) could not be saved, because a file already exists with the same name as the '_files' directory. Try saving to a different location". There isn't same file in the mentioned place since it is the first time i try to download those (any) pages and even if i change the location same message continues appearing.
Can someone tell me want can i do to resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.
I had put it on an USB HD I took the HD out of a computer and reformated it I had not idea NTFS would be a problem it seems it is It took me an hour to finally get the NTFS file system wiped off and make it a fat 32 drive, I used another fat 32 drive with all this Fire Fox Portable and it worked fine so I think your USB HD must be Fat 32 for it to work right.
Hey,
When I finish download a file, the ffp open me a downloads window but doesn't show the file that downloaded. I have downloaded the ffp again and the same problem happened. Is it a known problem? Their is a fix?
10x...
First post. Just found out about portable apps and I love it.
I was wondering if 99% of viruses come from the internet,(obviously an overstatement by me)if browsing the web with firefox portable if you are protecting yourself from viruses, etc from installing themselves on your pc. If you your are browsing the web with firefox portable and you do stumble on a Trojan, will it install itself on the pc or the usb drive?
I've been trying everything I can think of but I can't get around this error:
ERROR
Proxy Error
The proxy encountered an error.
Please try again later.
The thing is, I used ProxyGet and it says that I don't have a proxy. I am at work and the only websites that open are the intranet websites. Can't even get into google, which works fine on IE here along with a few other sites.
