I would like portable FF to always open embedded video or audio files with a portable player such as VLC Media Player, rather than the "standard" for the computer such as WMP. Is there any way to make that happen? Would Firefox Add-on MediaPlayerConnectivity at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/446 help with this? How do others work around this?
Thanks!

Hello
At college everything i go on is filtered through a proxy. The only way i can connect to the internet is to connect through there proxy on the http port. How can i bounce my internet through my college proxy and through a public proxy at the same time?
I am having this odd problem.
I like to configure all my portable apps on my harddrive for the speed, then just drag and drop the files onto the thumb drive.
At first I thought I had done something wrong, but every time I install addons and move it, I start up firefox the first time and it won't start up at all. The proccess is running, but no even the splash screen shows up.
And then I close that, pull the drive out and plug it back in, and it starts up fine, but all the addons are gone.
Anyone having this problem?
Great program, but I have a problem - every few days I need to re-load all the files back onto my flash drive because, when trying to load the application, it will hang after the splash screen disappears with 100% CPU usage.
It's not file corruption - the flash drive is a new and high quality OCZ flash drive that hasn't given me any problems and this happens too regularly after copying files over.
It could be an extension - I use a bunch but none of them give me any problems at all when the application is working correctly.
This is something i haven't done and is a total mystery. I have got this freebie ProxyWay and have read through the electronic set up manual. However to set it up one has to find the configuration settings. Be grateful if someone could tell me which directory on FFP they are in.
thanks
The new Helper App feature doesn't include the ability to open mailto links with Mozilla Thunderbird, Portable Edition, dosn't it?
Hello,
Can we expect FF 3.0 beta and RC builds as portable apps as in the pre-2.0 ages?
Don't take this as demanding or so, I am just asking.
I saw some posts asking about synchronizing their desktop/laptop Firefox with their USB flashdrive PortableApp Firefox, and how there's a utility out there called PUSS in development.
Couldn't you just use a file synchronization program (such as SyncBack, or rsync) to synchronize the Firefox profiles of both your desktop and your USB versions? But the question is: where are the exact files to sync, can you just sync the entire "profile" folder or does PortableFirefox make special changes outside of the "profile" folder?
Each time I try to install a freshly downloaded file, and then having selected where to place the istallation on my USB stick, I get the following message:
"Install gets ...Firefox_Portable_2.0.0.2_en-us.paf.exe is not supported archive"
Any advice please?
