Hallo. How to change Firefox Portable icon in Firefox Portable version 98.x.x ??
Tank You
Hi,
I have this problem.
Firefox portable won't start anymore.
I have tried different versions.
I have tried installing and uninstalling firefox, but it doesn't work.
It doesn't show up in the list of running apps, so I can't terminate it.
I tried manually cleaning the windows10 registry, deleted dozens of entries and it only worked once.
On the next attempt, it won't start again.
There must be something in the windows registry blocking it, but I don't know what.
Can you tell me how to fix it?
Thanks
Hi.
Today I noticed an unexpected behavior in Firefox Portable.
If I have the pref "app.update.staging.enabled" set to false, FirefoxPortable.exe is terminated while updater.exe is still running.
The pref description: "If set to true, the Update Service will apply updates in the background when it finishes downloading them."
So, the updates are applied in the background while firefox is still running (true). Otherwise, they are applied when you restart firefox (false).
The structure of the 'Mozilla' folder in %PROGRAMDATA% has changed. Now it adds some kind of GUID to its name, for example: Mozilla-d0636325-etc
Maybe you can take a look at this (if you haven't noticed it yet).
Have a nice day.
I run Firefox Portable on a computer that also has a normal Firefox installation. Earlier today, Firefox Portable started updating itself automatically, but I cancelled the update before it finished. Then, when I went to Settings > Firefox updates > Show update history, it was telling me that there was an update with an "install pending". So I deleted the Firefox Portable folder and installed it again, but the new installation is still telling me that there is a pending update. I can tell it's the same as before from the timestamp.
I discovered an issue with the website of a utility provider: https://client.hidroelectrica.ro
In Firefox Portable it does not work with error SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER.
My Portable Firefox was deployed as 87, updated through Firefox's mechanism to current latest.
Tested on 3 different deployments of Firefox Portable, each originating from different versions initially, updated through Firefox's mechanism to current latest.
Certificate is issued by "GeoTrust EV RSA CA 2018" (from DigiCert Inc).
This error shows only on Firefox 52 to the newest version, and happens whenever I click to check out on some shopping websites, like Costa.co.uk and currys.co.uk.
For troubleshooting purposes, I copied my portable Firefox setup and added a gift card and filled in my email address on Costa website:
https://gifting.costa.co.uk/home/gift-card/thank-you-little-gc.aspx
I checked to check out, but the error page shows instead of allowing me to proceed to payment.
I realized that the Firefox, Thunderbird, and SeaMonkey Portable launchers aren't fully portablizing paths within prefs.js. They portablize the drive letter, so you're good if you use it on an external drive or locally. But they were never updated to portablize partial paths so they'll work properly from a synced cloud folder between PCs or if you move the PortableApps directory.
I logged into Kucoin (Crypto exchange) through firefox portable.
In 3 minutes all my funds were transformed into BTC and transferred to another account.
I lost all my funds.
Afterwards I saw that when I logged-in, in parallel another instance logged in in China (time UTC+8).
Pay attention. The software is not safe to be used.
I will ask "PortableApps.com" to respond about this unacceptable issue.
Almost every time it starts it's asking to restore previous session even though my option is set on starting with new tab. Changed 1 to 0 in about:config as someone suggested - same thing...Aside from general slow start-up, works fine otherwise and closes without warnings or errors. I shut off power to the PC daily. Any ideas?
