Firefox Portable from a Write-Once drive (i.e. DVD-R)
Is it possible to setup Firefox Portable on a USB stick, then copy that directory to a DVD-R, and run it successfully from there? Or does it have to be able to write somewhere?

I am attempting to create menu items for various specific web pages in the PortableApps menu. All the information on what I'm doing should be here:
\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\App\AppInfo\appinfo.ini
[Format] Type=PortableApps.comFormat Version=0.9.8 [Details] Name=Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition Publisher=Mozilla & PortableApps.com Homepage=PortableApps.com/FirefoxPortable Category=Internet Description=Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition is the popular Mozilla Firefox web browser
My current fox got borked by Flash. Despite serious repair efforts to correct the problem.....so far no go, so I reverted to my last good Fox backup (maybe 2 months old).
However I'm having a difficult time bringing my current bookmarks to my 2 month old backup. Both versions have 'Bookmark Backup' extension installed if it will be of any help.
I HATE ADOBE, well maybe not hate but...................
Hi. I've tried to update my firefox portable in italian, but I have seen there's a problem. The update file for italian version is about 400 kb, too small...and when I tried to update firefox didn't work...
Luckyly I've a copy on my HDD so I can use previous version, but I hope you'll work to re-update the italian version correctly.
Thanks.

I'm using firefox portable 3.5.6.
When I install the coooliris addon, when I use it to watch videos on youtube, hulu, the addon says I need the flash player installede on my computer.
I do have the plugin in the ..\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins directory.
So,how does this happen? And how can I solve it?
thanks.
OK, this is weird.
I'm running Portable Firefox (3.5.5) from a flash drive on my work PC (XP) that does NOT have Firefox installed on it.
Every once in a while, a Firefox shortcut will show up on the desktop and low and behold an installation of Firefox in the program files folder. I uninstall it and sure enough a day or two later, it installs itself again. I never see the installation window for this happen.
Is Portable Firefox trying to up[date itself, but somehow installing a fresh version on the hard disk? I'm perplexed.
Now I own computer, so I plan to switch from FF to FF portable non-portable. It's as simple as just copying the entire profile? or there are files that are not compatible? For example is that the bookmarks are easy to export but i dont know how doit with other things (history, extensions, etc etc)
P.S.: sry for my bad english - google traslator ^_^
I have been using the Standard PortableApps.com Suite for more than two years and have been VERY pleased. I regularly use Portable Thunderbird, with the Lightning addon, Portable Firefox, and I added RoboForm2Go and a diary program to create a great portable "office". I even created a batch file to open all four programs, converted it to an executable, and added it the PortableApps menu.
For the past few months I've been having problems and believe I've narrowed it down to Portable Firefox.
