FireFox Portable won't open on 1 PC, but opens on the rest

Submitted by chevrolet.racing252 on February 12, 2008 - 1:17pm

I have been using FireFox Portable for quite some time now on my old HP XZ133 WinXP Home notebook and my Gateway tablet PC at work. Suddenly on Friday when I tried to open Firefox Portable from my portable HDD, it acted like it was working normally, but Firefox never came up. I tried restarting the computer and performing a Windows System Restore back to last Thursday when I know it was working perfectly and still had no luck. When I plug the HDD into my Tablet at the office, everything works perfectly with no problems whatsoever.

2.0.0.12 Won't open pages

I've got a bug with my portable Firefox, it runs and lunches but if I open any web page it never loads, I see the status bar flicker then go blank. This only happens when I install version 2.0.0.12
I think there is an add-on it don't like because when I run in safe-mode it runs fine.
When I re-installed version 2.0.0.11 it ran fine again.

My Add-Ons are:
*Adblock Plus (0.7.5.3)
*DownloadHelper (2.6.1)
*FaviconizeTab (0.9.7.4)
*FireFly (0.3.3)
*Firefox Google Bookmarks (0.3)
*Flashblock (1.5.5)
*Fullerscreen (2.3.3)
*Gmail Space (0.5.92)
*Google Toolbar (3.0.20070525W)

Migrating Settings?

Submitted by malikorx@gmail.com on February 10, 2008 - 10:36pm

I just use Firefox Portable on my computer and don't install the regular version. I would like the regular version on my computer, but I'm unsure as to how I can migrate all my settings, stored passwords, bookmarks, etc. from the Portable version to the Standard version. What is the easiest way to do this? I have tried CLEO and FEBE add-ons but they don't work properly with the portable version so I would prefer just copying my folders that contain the data. Can anyone help me?

Request: Savemode

Hi,

Problem solved
I have a big problem, can't use my Firefox Portable anymore, so I have to browse with the ugly IE:

After I read much about it, I wanted to give the FF-Addon PicLense a try. But with my old onboard-graphics, firefox isn't running anymore. I get an bluescreen of death with my 3D-Driver mentioned... Thats nothing interesting, it sometimes happens with my 3D-programs.

But how can I get my Firefox run again?
Is there a way to start it in savemode, so I can uninstall Piclense?

How Do I Update Firefox?

Submitted by malikorx@gmail.com on February 10, 2008 - 11:43am

I have been using Firefox Portable for a year now and have been allowing the auto-update feature to update my version of Firefox Portable. In the FAQ Sticky it says that it is not OK to do that. So I ask, how would I migrate all of my settings and whatnot from the directory of my old Firefox Portable to the directory of the new Firefox Portable? Or is there an easier way?

Portable Firefox 3b2 issues

Firstly, it's possible my main issues here are due to a messed up profile (but I don't think so). I won't have access to my home profile until, well, I go home, then I'll do some testings.

So I was just trying FF3b2 on another computer and I ran into a couple problems I don't experience in the non-portable version:
