Whenever Firefox Portable detects a new update, when I open Firefox after the update is complete, Firefox performs the update again!!
Why??
I just updated from FF Portable 117 to 118.0.2 (64-bit), and I'm seeing the following problem.
I have FF Portable set as my default app for URLs. Usually it is already running (I start it right after rebooting my PC). In 117 and earlier, when I click a link in Thunderbird, a new tab is opened in Firefox Portable. With 118, I get the dialog that says: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window."
Greetings,
I have an issue with FirefoxPortableESR 115.3.1: every time I change the "browser.privacySegmentation.createdShortcut" pref's value from TRUE to FALSE, it always returns back to TRUE after each restart. Is it a bug or a feature? The values of other prefs changed successfully and stayed like that after browser restart.
I tried changing the value of this pref on regular (non-portable) Firefox ESR 115.3.1, and everything worked fine.
In FirefoxPortable 118.0.1, the splash screen is only displayed when first launching after installation and not thereafter.
FirefoxPortable.exe is exist in process looked the task manager, but is Firefox running in normally as portable mode?
Hi everybody,
Since few days don't know exactly when or why, when I close and reopen Firefox portable the previous tabs are not restored. I checked that the parameter is correctly set in the settings. Maybe it happened after the last update or the one before. To update to a new version I always use the method mentioned in the FAQ (overwrite the previous)
Any idea or verification I could do ? It has always worked correctly since many months
First of all, I want to thank you for Portable Apps and Firefox Portable. Too many developers think that I am ungrateful, entitled, that I expect them to rush to make changes, etc. So I want to go ahead and say, thank you.
I have been using Firefox Portable for many years. If I had to guess, I've been using it for around 3 years and 2 months now, because that is how old my Portable Apps website account is. But it's also possible that I used Firefox Portable longer than that and just didn't bother to create an account until slightly over three years ago.
Hello,
for several years now I'm using three local installations of FF Portable on my PC.
I installed (extracted) all three of them to different directories (which I have full control over). I'm using them all at the same time for different purposes. Ofc FirefoxPortable.ini has the AllowMultipleInstances=true set. Up to version 117.0.1 everything was fine.
However I upgraded to version 118 today and now only the very first instance I start opens as expected. When I try to open the second or third instance they instead just open a new window of the first instance.
Firefox Portable 117 or 118 always closes abruptly when downloading any file from the internet, I tested the normal version (installed from the official Mozilla website) and the error does not happen, I copied the profile recently created by Firefox to the Firefox Portable folder and the error It didn't happen either, I think it has something to do with the default Firefox Portable profile.
I wanted a way to resolve this error because I don't want to have to recreate the entire profile from scratch, customize Firefox and my extensions.
Installed the latest Firefox Portable today. Loving how well it does everything. My concern: I'm using the portable to avoid Firefox writing data to my C:\ drive. I have the program installed on D:\ in D:\Utilities II\FirefoxPortable, and I'd like to direct it to put the daily cache files in a directory in that folder, say, \Other\cache. I can't find help online that dates within this century (!), and I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
Will this version be released by Portableapps?
