TBP - Crossplattform
Is there any solution that allows me to use the same TBP from windows and osx?
I know this has been discussed before, but the link to the solution does not longer work.
Thanks for the help,
Pablo

Hello. I am a newbie, in here but I have been using TBP for no less than months, very week I compact my folders, and also made the profile back up, but TBP continues downloading the old emails as if they were new, how can I solve this problem, I have already looked on the mozilla forums, and also in the TB forums, and followed some directions that somebody have posted, but still the same problem...should I reinstall the application on my USB drive?
Thanks.
I am trying to copy my local mail files into portable. However, when I do this they are not the same - the portable files contain many emails that are not on the local version of thunderbird (they were either moved or deleted long ago.) Where are these coming from and how to I get rid of them?
Thanks,
Strahy
I click on a link in the email and nothing happens; I do have PFF open when I do, so I right click the link and "copy link location" and paste into PFF. Is there a way to fix this?

If Thunderbird, the full version, has been in 1.5.0.7 for some time now, why is Thunderbird Portable in 1.5.0.5?
I have modified my registry setting for the Mapi DLLPath in the regitry to point to dirve:portablethuynderbird\app\thunderbird\mozmapi32.dll but it does not start a mail witht he attachment. It does not even start thunderbird. Any way to get the mozmapi32.dll to work portably. I know fairly little in regard to the code for the dll or how it points to thunderbird or anything. Thank you.
I first posted this as a general TB question, but got no satisfactory answer, so maybe someone can help me here:
I am running Portable Thunderbird 1.5.0.7.
I kept getting a certain message that i receive everyday (a comics.com strip) listed as junk, even though I mark it every day as 'Not Junk'
Day after day it keeps ending up in the Junk Folder. I compact folders regularly.
I added the sender to my contact list, added a filter for that address to be sent to my inbox and had the Junk Controls trust the address book.
Is there a way to mark it as 'Safe sender' or something?
Thanks for your help- Sergio
I have just installed Thunderbird portable to a 8GB USB2 flash drive. I have copied all the local files as detailed here...
https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#local_profile
My mails total about 4GB split across various folders.
However, when I launch Thunderbird portable edition and click on any of my larger folders it simply shows 'building summary file...' at the bottom left and seems to hang...
Is this what is meant by "Sometimes, certain profiles will cause the launcher to fail or hang. In that case, start from scratch and try just copying your mailstores (Mail and ImapMail directories) as well as your prefs.js and abook.mab files." ??
My requirement is to copy emails from TB in USB to TB in PC and vice versa. But if we simply copy the mbox files from one instance of TB into another, will it not overwrite existing files? I wanted to append emails.
Suppose, if we check emails using TB of USB, and if we want to copy them to TB of PC, what do I do? Copying the whole Mail folder works fine, but it will overwrite whatever emails present in TB in PC, right?
I wanted something like importing Outlook emails. Create a separate folder called 'emails of USB' and then have its own inbox, sent, trash folders etc.
I copied the folder in Local Folders, changed its name to 'emails of USB' and pasted them in the Mail folder of the PC's TB. All those folders(inbox, sent etc.) are getting created. Even those files corresponding to each folder(mbox files for inbox etc.) is present with the same size. But then, no emails are visible in any of the folders. What do I do now?
Hi
I have used Word to create a signature file that includes a jpeg company logo
with some other text and saved it as a web page file. I have set up Thunderbird
(version 2 alpha 1) to use this file but when I "compose" a new email the text of the signature file appears ok but an empty box appears where the logo should be with a little red diamond in the top left hand corner. If I try to send the message anyway a dialog box appears "Attaching image002.gif" but nothing more happens.
I have checked that the option in Thunderbird account settings for compose messages in html is ticked.
Thanks
