Thunderbird Portable

webmail with TB 1.5.08

Submitted by rustyriley on November 30, 2006 - 6:21pm

Hi, sorry if this question has been posted previously, been checked with 6 screens and not there, so:
trying to set up TB latest version (haven't used it before) with webmail.
when i try to do this, get error message back:
"Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server localhost responded: undefined is a unsupported domain"

this is obviously a setup problem, but there's no guidelines to follow as to how to set it up. not using it on local network, just wish to use it with yahoo, gmail, mail.com and hotmail.

Tips anyone, please?

Speeding up Thunderbird Portable

Submitted by rms2000 on November 28, 2006 - 5:24pm

Does anyone have any suggestions for speeding up Thunderbird Portable when running off of a USB flash drive? Right now, it takes about 3 seconds to delete an email message which is far too slow. An email message should take no time to delete. I'm running Thunderbird Portable on a year old Sony Vaio laptop which is equiped with XP Pro and USB 2.0 ports. My flash drive is also USB 2.0.

Hi @ all,

I'm new in this forum and want to ask all if someone have an idea how I can administrate different eMail accounts with Thunderbird Portable.
Using my normal thunderbird I have the possibility to use the profilmanager.

Is someone who can help me?

Greetings from Germany

Michael

Compose stays open

Submitted by darylu on November 23, 2006 - 5:50pm

I use TB portable. Recently, it seems that if I sent an emal from a FireFox link, the Compose window stays open and shows 100% sent. The message is in the Sent folder, but the Compose window stays active. If I send another email directly from TB, it seems to "flush" it through.

I've been experimenting with a suite of Open Source, Portable Apps on a flashdrive. Sometimes I move them to a PC, run them, then move them back. Then maybe to another PC. This open Compose window has happened rather recently. I can't link it to any specific changes.

Thanks, I've used these forums alot to get me going on this.
