Thunderbird Portable

I'm attempting to upgrade Thunderbird 2.0.0.4 (I think) to the latest version (2.0.0.9) but I'm getting this error during the install. The flash drive has 26MB free.

I have Abort, Retry and Ignore as options. Retry just keeps bringing up the same error.

Does anyone know what could cause this?

(P.S. Just noticed when I did the preview for this post that the date and time are off by nearly 40 years: "Submitted by taa on December 31, 1969 - 4:00pm.")

I just got startd on the whole portable apps thing and I love it! I mainly got it to do my email off of it. I have version 1.5.1.0 of thundrbird, and I had it running long enough to send and recieve a couple massages from my gmail. The next computer I plugged it into had the error message (the one from the subject), and now it doesn't work anywhere. HELP!

I use Thunderbird Portable when travelling, and it occurs to me that it would be quite convenient for me to put the chip with my profile into my palm Tungsten E and let VersaMail access my email. I see no import or export features that will let me do this.

Is it possible? (It would be a darn sight easier than copying each Email into a Word document, saving it onto the chip, and then reading the chip in my palm from DocsToGo).

I have only recently started using PortableApps and I'm quite satisfied, so I'm not really sure if this problem is just with the PCs I plug into but, here it goes:

I just tried to check my email. Started Thunderbird and it wants me to set up email accounts. It is acting like it can't find any of my settings, old mail etc.

Looked under the profile folder and there is no file "profile.ini".

Also, there is no user or default user folder. just the profile folder,then extensions, mail and webmail folders underneath.

If I look under the profile/mail folder, it looks like all my stuff is still there, I just don't know how to get Thunderbird to start using it again.

I have a sandisk cruzer with U3, I have been attempting to get thunderbird to work with my hotmail. the webmail ext. will only work with 2.0. I couldn't get it to work.
I put thunderbird 2.0 on a regular thumb drive and it works with hotmail.

Is there any way thunderbird for my U3 can be updated to 2.0?

I am trying to use thunderbird's address book with an Exchange server via LDAPS.

The problem is that no matter what I do, it ignores the port I set (3269) and uses either 636 or 389 seemingly at random. Yes I am saying that even when I check ssl and it autoconfigures to 636 it sometimes still tries to connect to 389.

I have tried deleting the ldap directory settings and creating new ones to no avail.

Any ideas?

Hi Im new in the portable apps. Irecently tried to configure the thunderbird and it ask me the sever. My email is with gmail so i put pop.gmail.com but when i tried to download my emails y didnt download. Please help.

When I run Thunderbird portable the McAffee systray icon turns red and says a message has been added to the protection log. Every time I open it about five lines like the following one appear in the protection log:

When I connect my flash drive to a computer at work I have no problems, but on my laptop at home I get this error: "could not connect to mail server, connection was refused". What am I doing wrong?
