Lost default msg sort by

Submitted by Miles on October 29, 2006 - 6:21pm

Installed TBP to thumb drive. Then copied over the profile. All 105 msg folders sort sequence had been set as descending and threaded reverted to the presumably default ascending & unthreaded.

This will take an hour to correct -- 2 settings each for each folder! Is there a way to prevent this? If so I would prefer to simply delete this profile, change whatever file and again migrate.

Edit draft button in IMAP Draft folder is not present

Submitted by miceno on October 29, 2006 - 5:53pm

Hi,

I am running the latest available ThunderBird Portable and I am missing a features that I have previously used in other versions of ThunderBird.

When you select a message stored in a Drafts folder in an IMAP server, the message window showed an "Edit drafts..." button in the recipients area (the gray area), but now it is not showing that button.

Any clue?

Best regards.

Hello. I am a newbie, in here but I have been using TBP for no less than months, very week I compact my folders, and also made the profile back up, but TBP continues downloading the old emails as if they were new, how can I solve this problem, I have already looked on the mozilla forums, and also in the TB forums, and followed some directions that somebody have posted, but still the same problem...should I reinstall the application on my USB drive?

Thanks.

Transfer Problem

Submitted by Strathy on October 27, 2006 - 12:38am

I am trying to copy my local mail files into portable. However, when I do this they are not the same - the portable files contain many emails that are not on the local version of thunderbird (they were either moved or deleted long ago.) Where are these coming from and how to I get rid of them?

Thanks,

Strahy

MAPI support

Submitted by jasonpassow on October 24, 2006 - 2:11pm

I have modified my registry setting for the Mapi DLLPath in the regitry to point to dirve:portablethuynderbird\app\thunderbird\mozmapi32.dll but it does not start a mail witht he attachment. It does not even start thunderbird. Any way to get the mozmapi32.dll to work portably. I know fairly little in regard to the code for the dll or how it points to thunderbird or anything. Thank you.

genuine mail keeps getting junked

Submitted by sergiom99 on October 24, 2006 - 1:44pm

I first posted this as a general TB question, but got no satisfactory answer, so maybe someone can help me here:

I am running Portable Thunderbird 1.5.0.7.

I kept getting a certain message that i receive everyday (a comics.com strip) listed as junk, even though I mark it every day as 'Not Junk'
Day after day it keeps ending up in the Junk Folder. I compact folders regularly.
I added the sender to my contact list, added a filter for that address to be sent to my inbox and had the Junk Controls trust the address book.

Is there a way to mark it as 'Safe sender' or something?

Thanks for your help- Sergio

How slow should it be? Copied mails not appearing...

Submitted by benfrain on October 24, 2006 - 10:47am

I have just installed Thunderbird portable to a 8GB USB2 flash drive. I have copied all the local files as detailed here...

https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#local_profile

My mails total about 4GB split across various folders.

However, when I launch Thunderbird portable edition and click on any of my larger folders it simply shows 'building summary file...' at the bottom left and seems to hang...

Is this what is meant by "Sometimes, certain profiles will cause the launcher to fail or hang. In that case, start from scratch and try just copying your mailstores (Mail and ImapMail directories) as well as your prefs.js and abook.mab files." ??
