Firefox Portable

Multiple Local homepages

Submitted by iMartyr on September 24, 2006 - 9:37am

In Firefox it is possible to set multiple homepages using the | symbol. It is also possible to allow a user to have multiple homepages stored locally using this setting. Firefox Portable however currently only loads one local homepage, the rest it interperates as an http: address. Just a small gripe Smile there's probably just a handful of users that would use multiple tiddly wikis' and whatnot.

Bookmarking a FRAME from "Bookmarks - Bookmark This Page" menubar item

Submitted by phillyboy on September 23, 2006 - 7:44am

I am using Firefox Portable 1.5.0.6 for my application, and it is working very well, so-far. Currently, the only way to bookmark a frame is a mouse-right-click within a frame and select "This Frame-Bookmark This Frame" menuitem.

Now, here is my challenge: I want to bookmark a frame from the Bookmarks menu. This implies I customize the "Bookmarks-Bookmark This Page" to actually bookmark a FRAME and NOT the FRAMESET. It currently bookmarks the frameset even when you invoke it from a frame.

How can I duplicate the functionality of "This Frame-Bookmark This Frame" mouse-right-click menuitem in "Bookmarks-Bookmark This Page" menubar item? I am currently working on addBookmarkForBrowser() function in browser.js, without any success so-far.

Weird problem

I've just installed FFP on my external hard drive and when I run it, every web page i open "hops". It's difficult to explain, but it's like the whole page moves down a few pxls and moves up the same few pxls imiddiately after, after this it does it again, so it keeps hopping. I'ts kinda annoying Wink

Anyone knows this bug (?) or how to solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Run a file on exit

Submitted by twnty3svn on September 22, 2006 - 9:09am

Just a quick question as to whether the launcher for Firefox or Thunderbird can run a .bat (or any file for that matter) file on exit? Or whether anyone knows of a extension that does the same thing.

The reason i'd like to konw if this functionaliy exists is because i want it to run my EncryptonClick .bat on close, automatically. If anyone has any other suggestions to acomplish the same thing, please post.

Thanks

Doesn't work with WINE

If I open winecfg and go to the devices I can change the paths. It works if I choose "/media/windows_c" für the letter C: but Firefox and Thunderbird (I don't test the other here) don't start. I can start other applications like Putty etc. but not Firefox and Thunderbird.

If I change the path at C: to "/media/CORSAIR" (my USB-Stick) Firefox works fine. What can I do that it works on other letters as I, G, P etc.?
