Cool+Player bug

Submitted by Asiangotchi on July 22, 2009 - 9:57pm

Well, there seems to be this bug in Cool+Player where it skips one second every once in a while. It gets pretty annoying.

It occurred on all the computers I've currently used (XP and Vista). I've noticed how no one actually posted this, so I'm guessing not many people use this.

Having a hard time downloading any of the programs from the website

Submitted by Camsy on July 22, 2009 - 4:40pm

Hi!

I've been trying to download the following applications:

Mozilla Firefox Portable
Mozilla Sunbird
FileZilla Portable

but I can't seem to download any of them. Whenever I click the "Download Now" button, I am lead to the page that says something like, 'Your download will start shortly'. Afterwards, I am redirected to this site: http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/ As soon as I reach this page, my browser automatically hangs.

Portable JDK?

I had originally asked this in the Java Portable release news thread, foolish of me I know, but anyway... is there any way way that we could have the option when we install Java Portable to install the JDK instead of just the runtime? I realize this would not be useful to most users, but it could be useful to some (including myself). In the mean time, is there any way to manually install it, a la install Java Portable and then just drop in the JDK files? Thanks Smile

I would like invite you to know SliTaz.

SliTaz is a free operating system, working completely in RAM and booting from removable media such as a cdrom or USB key. SliTaz is distributed as a LiveCD, and weighs less than 30MB. The system is quick and responsive, clean and robust. SliTaz is simple and intuitive, providing a lightweight, elegant desktop, detailed documentation and easy to use configuration tools.

GnuCash Portable 2.2.8 Creates Keylogger??

Submitted by enigmamgine on July 21, 2009 - 3:32am

I really don't want to believe that a keylogger has been purposely programmed into GnuCash, a financial management program, so I don't know if it's been hacked or something???...

To give you an idea, here's what happened:

I tried installing GnuCash Portable on my flash drive on my own computer. Since I don't use my Admin profile unless it's necessary, I was using a profile without Admin rights. I do not have a full non-portable version of GnuCash installed on my machine.

JavaPortable - Unable to download Java

Submitted by Jero on July 20, 2009 - 12:05pm

When I tried to install JavaPortable I got the error message "Installer is unable to download Java". Of course, first think I did was to check my Internet connection and all was fine. I could even access java.sun.com site and manually downloaded the Java SE Runtime.

My box had Java 6 installed. I guess this is not necessary, but still I decided to uninstall my local copy. It does not work either.

[Bugs] Blender Portable 2.49 Rev 2

Submitted by Bart.S on July 18, 2009 - 4:12pm
  • BUG: file "$TEMP\quit.blend" is left behind
  • BUG: language switching doesn't work. BlenderPortable contains "App\Blender\.blender\locale\*.*", "App\DefaultData\settings\.blender\locale\*.*" and thus "Data\settings\.blender\locale\*.*". 3 times the same stuff, but the launcher searches the locales at "$PROGRAMDIRECTORY\locale\*.*", which doesn't exist.
  • oh, and btw., the code could be cleaned a bit

notepad++ 5.4.4 bug

Submitted by Exelle on July 17, 2009 - 9:10pm

I'm posting this not to complain about a bug, but to ask for a recompiling of the portable version, as the bug was fixed.

this is taken from the notepad++ forum (the first 2 posts in http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=3324337&forum_id=331753):
