Has anyone had this problem? My clean, uptodate install of Opera Portable will not run on my computer at work. No matter what flash drive I use, even if I install it to my desktop. It will not open at all, shows no signs of activity, nothing shows in processes. This applies to Opera 12.x and the newest version of Opera 25.x. Iron Portable, Qupzilla Portable, Seamonkey Portable, all run on the same computer, but not Opera. Windows 7, Dell Optiplex 9020.

SM Update needed

Submitted by mhonline on November 17, 2014 - 5:56pm

Last available version in here is the SM 2.29, but there is a bunch of nonworking addons/extensions around, esp. lightning (3.5) and the related google-calender-provider (1.0.2), that do not fit together. Since I guess it is not possible to get serious advice from the Mozilla-side on how to deal with older/portable versions, I loved to see the SM-update here.
Thanks

Chrome Portable not keeping extensions

Submitted by badcom on November 11, 2014 - 9:28am

Hello,

I installed Chrome Portable, installed a few extensions and wrapped it with NSIS installer. When I set it up in another machine it does not port the extensions I had installed. The first time I load it, it deletes the extensions from the dir Data/profile/Default/Extensions.

The settings remain as I had set up.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Still can't install extensions on employer computer

Submitted by ChromeFLUser on November 1, 2014 - 10:21am

My employer gave us new computers and took away administrator rights. While they did install Google Chrome for us (and IE 8), they have blocked all extensions and plugins, even Flash. So I bought myself a fast USB, and installed Portable Google Chrome on this USB. Using my home computer, I got it all set up. However, when I ran Portable Google Chrome off my work computer, it still is not downloading or allowing me to run my extensions/plugins, claiming they are blocked. Is there some way I can do this with portable chrome, as that was the reason I got it?
