I was a bit confused after updating to Foxit Reader 5.4.4!

First of all it comes up with an error while starting the app and the other thing is: It's not Foxit Reader!

Take a look at it please and you will see that Foxit PhantomPDF has been packaged accidentally!!!

How hard is it to create a gpoPortable in addition to gPodderPortable?

Submitted by hahndorf on November 21, 2012 - 6:30am

gPodder works fine for me but it still requires many clicks to get to my latest podcasts.

gPodder also comes with a command line version gpo.exe which should allow me to script podcast downloads.

How hard is it to create a gpoPortable.exe wrapper for the command line version, or can I just somehow point the existing gpo.exe to use the existing Phython?

Thanks

Peter

Speedcrunch Portable

Submitted by phardman on November 14, 2012 - 12:02pm

Using Process Monitor, I've noticed that this app tries to read "D:\kde\qt-win-opensource-src-4.4.0\plugins" when I start it. I don't have (and have never had) that directory, so I assume this is a bug.

I have most of my apps installed to C: which is a SSD, while D: is a regular HDD. My HDD is usually idling so whenever I run Speedcrunch my HDD spins up, that's how I discovered this issue.

DiaPortable does not open

It starts to open, stops, opens CornicePortable and then displays an error that says something like "application exited in an unexpected or unusual manner"

I've downloaded the application three more times this morning and used Portable apps for two of those (which also installed it. I really like that feature) and once manually and installed it using the add app process. All gave the same indications and did not load.

Opera v12.02 and higher doesn't run from any folder Program Files

Submitted by G33kKahuna on November 12, 2012 - 2:15pm

Just downloaded v12.10 and tried running Opera from under Program Files folder.

It throws a message "Opera portable cannot be run from inside C:\Program Files. This is for standard local software only."

V12 worked fine running from Program Files. I am still running v12 from a folder location under Program Files. This message started since v12.02. There should be no restriction to run from a folder inside Program Files.

Not sure I understand the desupport of this folder structure since v12.02. Is there any way to enable it?
