AppCrash w/ multiple instances of Iron Portable

Submitted by oberst on December 19, 2012 - 1:19pm

It happens almost every time I start a new instance--from a separate copy of the Iron Portable folder, of course. The non-installable version from srware.com does not suffer from this problem (I prefer the portableapps.com one since I hope to be able to upgrade the browser without losing extensions and customizations, by running the newest paf installer). In any case, that means it has something to do with the PortableApps packaging, I'd say. Running multiple totally separate instances is the main reason I am not using installed browsers.

[Fixed] World Clock leaves a critical file behind

Submitted by MichaelDW on December 16, 2012 - 7:53pm

It leaves a config file in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\ULU4AQQF\localhost\PortableApps\WorldClockPortable\App\WorldClock\worldclock-flash-clocks.exe\ .

The name of this file is WorldMapColorDataEx.sol .

The file is not saved , and everytime you move to a new computer ( or a cleaning program cleans cookies) it resets to defaults.

I am on a Win 7 computer.

Help files not included

Submitted by jcoombs on December 11, 2012 - 4:43pm

I use your portable apps on all my computers, and sometimes from a flash drive too. I really appreciate how handy they are! But one thing I find inconvenient is that few of them include the help file.

For example, I recently added BabelPad, then tried opening help. Error: "Failed to launch help". Next I went here...
http://www.babelstone.co.uk/software/babelpad.html

...and was able to download a zip file containing BabelPad.chm which, when placed in the right folder (PortableApps\BabelPadPortable\App\BabelPad) worked fine. Very simple.
