Hello to all! This is a series of discussions I've had with some people concerning things like, the legalities of LAME, legal questions concerning free media software having support for patented formats, details concerning distribution of media files, etc. If anyone has more info on this subject, please put it here!

If i wanted to build a torrent of the whole set of portable apps
1 is this considered "legal"
2 do i need to include any kind of "credits" file
3 would anybody like me to post a link to said torrent file??

I use the built in desktop wallpaper switcher on my portableapps drive. Just wondering if there's a way to not switch it for windows 7 machines only, or perhaps just on my home machine.

I was reading on flash encryption that alows use without admin rights.
Is truecrypt with autorun file still the best way to go?

hi i have seen "team viewer" here as a portable app. https://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/teamviewer_portable i think its not truly opensorce can someone please clarify this.

Is there a way to have categories on the left side of the Portable App Menu? If you download all the apps, it would be nice to have categories to find what your lookng for

Hi all, kinda new here and as do all n00bs, I got a couple questions.

1. I made a Star Trek Theme but I am having difficulty getting the custom Icons to work. How do I remedy this?

2. Also, the only way I can get my custom theme to work is to name it Green (or another of the Default themes) and rename Green to GreenOld. How can I get my theme to show up in the theme choices dialog box?

Hi there, I have a lot of apps in my menu, about 95, many of them util programs I just dumped in there. The new progress bar on the menu is nice, but for me it's still slow even on a fast computer. So I was wondering if you could add an option to disable the auto scanning for programs unless someone installs a new program or clicks on the refresh button.

Hopefully there's an option for this already that I can add to the PortableAppsMenu.ini file?
