I close all of my open programs then use the eject button on the MOD R30 PAM, I get the message that all programs on the drive are being close and after that the drive can be ejected. When all is finished, and I try to eject my drive, I get:

"The device 'Generic volume' cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later."

If I run EjectScript 0.4 on my drive, it tells me that there is nothing running on the drive. So what is keeping the drive from being ejected?

Hey, I hope I didn't just miss this when I searched, but when the PAM searches for EXEs it includes EVERY EXE in a given folder. Is there a way I can remove the extra EXEs, like the ubiquitus w9xpopen?

I really love PortableApps, and my dream would be to have the same little usb key working on windows, linux and mac os. I ran into http://openlina.org and it seems to me that this project makes that dream achievable. I could, of course, do my own open source project to merge the 2 concepts (PortableApps + OpenLina) but it would make much more sense that it comes from PortableApps.com.

Any thoughts?

Hi all

I'm trying to get the Smithtech applauncher util to work on my sandisk u3 drive.

I've successfully replaced the u3 partition with the custom iso that i downloaded from the smithtech website.

I also added truecrypt and its related files to the iso file using UltraISO so that it would keep my storage area clean.

when i try to add truecrypt as a startup option, clicking either the "save settings" or the "apply all" button gives me the following error:


Run-time error '-2147024891 (80070005)':

Access is denied.


U3 really doesn't work! At first I tried to use my dad's, but then it said it doesn't work on Vista! Then I got a newer one for my birthday, and OpenOffice for U3 (Which by the way they got from John T. Halley) said soffice.exe wasn't working! I'm removing it at this very moment.

What do you think about portable applications update manager? It would give options to update your usb software, check current and latest version. I think this is good idea.

Basically, is there a way to install DSL onto a flash drive so that you can use it as a bootable disc in addition to being able to navigate to the .bat file and running it from there?

running windows mobile ?

I realize this can effectively be done by using the any of the existing suites and then installing whatever is missing, but:
How about creating a "full"/"ultra" suite, which includes all of the PortableApps?
This might be fast and convenient for those who have portable drives with greater storage than 512 MiB.
