Hi,
I installed my PortableApps on my computers hard drive in
D:\PortableApps\ and created a shortcut in my Startup folder referring to Start.exe in D:\PortableApps\.
When running the Start.exe through that shortcut, I get a message like:
Could not find C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\PortableAppsPlatform.exe
Do I need to adjust a configuration file or something ?
Regards
For debugging reason it could be helpful to have an index of the installed applications with there installation / update date and particular version on hand. I think about a simple "endless" flat file.
I have standalone applications, and I would like to know why those EXE files cannot see on portableapps.com menu? I placed the folder right after E:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com
I tried to change the image of my USB through the autorun, however the portable apps platform wouldn't run after i did this. Is there another way to do this? and if yes how?
I know it is a broad question, I am referring more to the permissions a user requires to run the apps. I have a thumb drive with portable apps installed and the apps I want are installed. If I take this thumb drive into college am I able to use the apps without any special permissions? The system is fairly restricted so I am curious as to how exactly the system works so I can judge whether I am breaking any rules in regards to the colleges computer usage policy. Any help is very much appreciated.
Hello, I am/was a pStart user and I recently switched to the PortableApps.com platform. I like the automatic update feature but I think that the PortableApps.com menu is just too big. I would prefer a simple popup menu with all the installed applications, just like pStart.
I've adjusted the source of v11.2 just a little bit and added a new menu item to the taskbar popup menu, see http://i48.tinypic.com/25sojdx.png
What do you think of adding such a feature to the new PortableApps.com Platform release?
hello comunity,
I'm using the portableapps Platform for some years now. I run the platform from several truecrypt volumes. Each volume had it's own PApps Instance. Now I want to use only one Instance of PApps with those truecrypt volumes. This is done with mklink /J to join the different applications into one PApps Directory.
This work's fine.
The only caveat is, after joining the Volumes I must run "platform->applications->reload symbols" manually.
Is there a way to automate this task to include this in the join process.
The Adding Other Apps to the PortableApps.com Menu section of the Platform Support page refers to "Options->Refresh App Icons" - this needs to be changed to "Apps->Refresh App Icons".
Summary: Please allow to add 3rd party Portable Apps to the Portable Apps Plattform.
Hello,
I am using some portable apps, that are not available via PortableApps.com.
Here I have downloaded the portable app directly from the web site of the app.
