PortableApps.com Platform

on the right side of the current portable apps platform, theres a list of folders:
-documents
-music
-videos
-pictures

(not in that order XD)

i was wondering if it were possible for the platform to have the ability of allowing the user to add folders to that list.

like lets say the user has a folder on there drive called "stuff", the person could change the menu of folders to include a link to "stuff"

Would it be a big deal to call user-defined scripts during startup and closing portableapps.com?

I'm thinking about looking if a specified batch file (for example startup.bat or shutdown.bat) exists in the Data folder.
If it doesn't exist, skip this point.
If it exists, execute the batch file before going on as usual.

Thils will give the user a possibility to define whatever he wants to do during startup or shutdown of portableapps.com without bothering you with "i need this new feature!!".

I would like to set an environment variable globally when PortableApps.exe starts so that all portable apps can use it.

Is there a way to do this?

OK i have a few feature requests i think that would help improve the usability of paf menu.

1. group by category: add a view feature to "Options" to list the apps according to their types e.g. all security apps get listed under the name Security, all utility apps get listed under the heading Utilities etc. might have to add category to the paf format so that the app builders can add the category to the code. Then add code to the paf platform to read the categories and for the grouping. this should be easy :).

Using the 'eject' feature, the PortableApps tool just quits without even removing the device (nor do programs recieve any removal messages/request)
If I remove the device using Windows, it cannot be removed (seems the PortableApps tool does not support this?)
It's a Windows 95/98/ME Mixture OS, where handling device removal is really easy compared to Windows XP. But as Windows XP is not Win9x compatible, and Win9x does not support all XP features, but I hope this issues will be fixed.
And yes, device removal definitely works on this Win9x OS!

All of my program icons in the left pane are too large (?) and only the upper left quadrant of the icon shows, not the nice full mini icons as pictured on the home page. This makes them hard to identify. Anyone else have this issue or a resolution?

I searched, but found no problem like this. I'm running XP pro SP3 w/ WS monitor @ 1920 x 1080.

basically, as usual, the favorited apps apear on top, but my idea is that all other apps be catagorized based on what there catagory is on portableapps.com.......

so the apps would have a {collapsable} header and thus, portable apps are more organized..

(please excuse my errors, im realy tired, and this came to me in a dream.. yes, i dream about computer programming, and arrays >.> ...)

Hello there!

When i close my PortableApps.com using the X button on the bottom of the menu, the Programm closes itself but leaves all portable apps opened.
When i try to close&eject PortableApps.com with the ^ Button on the bottom of the menu, and still have apps opened, PortableApps close but Windows refuses ejecting my USB device because there are still apps opened.

Is there a way to tell PortableApps.com to close the opened Apps before closing itself?
