[Help]Opening portable apps without a tray icon.

Submitted by xdeadzx on September 1, 2010 - 10:30pm

Is there any way to disable the tray icon so it just uses the task bar or the little "I'm minimized" bar when you don't have a task bar? I use portable apps on my school computers, and we can't use tray icons, and having to leave open a explorer to open portableapps.exe every time I need something is rather annoying.
I can use the task bar though, so that method works, or having it not minimize on clicking off of it/loading an app, just going to the background or something.

Prevent users from changing portable menu options other than the theme.

Hello again,

I'm presently using the 2.0 beta 5 portable menu and I would like to prevent my students from changing any of the show hide menu options.

Theme changes would be ok.

Are there any .ini options I can use?...I found some ini options and was able to keep the menu visible at all times.

Thanks again,
Dave

How to Rollback to a pervious version

Submitted by WinGeek10 on August 26, 2010 - 3:59pm

I just updated to Platform 1.6.1.0 from I believe 1.5.2.0 and I now have a redundant button on my taskbar. I wish to put my thumb drive back the previous version where I only had the icon in the systray and not taking up space in the taskbar. Is there a way to do this without having to redo the whole thumbdrive?

Thanks,

[Suggestion] Button on the taskbar and not just an icon

The question is quite simple: I use the platform on computers that are "stuck" (probably this is the wrong word, maybe it is "locked") in various ways, and among them are the icons of the taskbar. There is no way the platform also appear on the taskbar as a button? (Sorry for bad English, I use google translator ...:])

How about a new and advace type of Platform?

I've been thinkin', and actually tryin' to daydream a great platform that everybody can be happy to have. Why not try a portable start up menu platform that you can actually create a customized folder for an application that you can download at? But it needed to have a primary source folder that will hold all the portable application.

For ex.: ("_" sign should be optional)

X:\Portable_Program_Files\Common_Files\Adobe
X:\Portable_Program_Files\Common_Files\Java
X:\Portable_Program_Files\iBin
X:\Portable_Program_Files\Mozilla\Firefox_Portable_Edition
