Is it possible to make folders in the platform to group applications?
The PA.c Installer never seems to remove the folder it creates in the %TEMP% directory. It usually contains "textreplace.dll" (maybe I saw "registry.dll" in there a few times but I can't reproduce that one at the moment). Anyone else?
I promise I searched this before posting. A (hopefully) simple request I have is that the Portable App Suite window be shrunk from 599 pixels to 536 pixels. This is to accommodate Netbooks with their reduced resolution and would (hopefully) not adversely affect the experience of non-netbook users. If it would, perhaps a Netbook-specific version?
536px is the space I have excluding my taskbar (Win7 standard theme), some Netbooks will require less but i suggest any other Netbook users post if they have even less (obv within reason ) to work for everyone.
When I "Refresh App Icons" from the "Options" menu, it scans and makes icons for all the *.com and *.exe executables in the "PortableApps" directory tree. Not all of them are primary applications and should not be listed on the menu.
How can I eliminate the icons for files that should not be displayed?
Is there a configuration or INI file I can edit?
[Edit below]
I just found the "Hide Icon" instructions in the support section. While that will hide the icons, if the "Hidden" section of the INI is edited to delete the list, will the icons re-appear?
Thanks!

Hi, I just wanted to propose a small suggestion for the Portable Apps Menu. On the U3 Launchpad, the settings has a option to "Install Launcher". This is a small program that when a U3 drive is detected to open it for computers that the Launchpad dosen't work right with the computer. This would be useful for Windows 7 Users (Like me). Another solution would be to make a CDFS Partition but the Launcher would be easier I'm guessing. This is the only reason I stick with the U3 Launchpad. I still use PortableApps.com Apps. I would prefer to use the PApps menu or CodySafe menu.
I want to password protect either the usb drive or the portable apps platform.
Can anyone share their ideas or solutions anyone has implemented.
I did a few searches and haven't come up with much.
Thanks.
I'm new to this forum, and also to PortableApps. I am also a fan of EssentialPIM, and have used it on my PC for a while now. I tried to use this procedure ""Essential PIM is actually already portable (without U3). They had a straight portable version available even before the U3 version. Just be sure to get the right package from them (you'll need to ask em as their site is a bit misleading) and install it to PortableApps\EssentialPIM. The Menu will pick it up."" to install it on my thumb drive, but it did not show up on the menu. I tried to refresh the menu icons (under options, but no go.
I have done quite a bit of searching and am just frustrated at this point.
This may be a silly question.
So how do I get the firefox icon to appear in the PA Launcher?
I installed the pa launcher
then dled the firefox portable
Ran the Exe
the icon is on the drive in the firefox directory
I have tried putting the icon in the launchers sub directories and still does not appear.
any advice would be appreciated.
I know it was possible before with a mod on a website, don't remember which.
I want to link the eject button to another app for closing it and not using windows crappy eject system.
I also want to add a script for closing portable app associater on eject and on close of portable apps suite.
I run Windows 7. Some of my apps report "You are not allowed to write to the registry!! Continue anyway". What is your solution to that? Just to add xp compatibility to the app or run as administrator?
