Menu programs list

Submitted by Yaara on June 24, 2008 - 5:00am

I'd like to know, how does the PAM launcher auto generate a list of all available exe's?
I'm not a developer but I'd like to know because I have a folder with lots of exe's and I want to auto generate it shortcuts, if possible.

Thanks in advance for this odd question.

HELP !!!! Changing the text of the extensions listed in the popup window

Submitted by Itgnius on June 24, 2008 - 12:06am

Hi there.

I have portable apps installed on my USB stick.
How do I (if at all possible) change the text on how the programs appear in the popup window.

i.e I am happy with the icons however for example I would like to do this:

I instead of having 'Notepad++Potable' I want to simply rename it as 'Notepad'.

If this is possible how do I go about doing it ??

Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, so i installed the Portable apps Suite Standard onto my mp3 (MP4) player and i went into the file and clicked on 'Portable Apps Menu' and an error message pops up saying 'Cannot Open File"C:\DOCUME~1\Matt\LOCALS~1\TEMP\WPDNSE\PortableAppsMenu\App\DefaultData\Theme\Background.jpg" the system cannot find the path specified'
So i went to the theme file and the background JPg was there but i dont know what else to do, Any Ideas?

Using PortableAppsBackup and -Restore without the PortableAppsSuite

Submitted by Cathryne on June 21, 2008 - 1:25am

Hejhej!

I have FF3 and TB2 Portable allready installed on my PC an would like to use the Backup function of PortableAppsSuite.

What I tried is this:
- copied the PortableAppsBackup-folder somewhere else
- launched PortableAppsBackup seperately from the Suite from the new folder
- started a "Complete" backup

I guess that's not what I wanted Wink

Of course there are other backup programs, but this is the only one I found, which I can run, it knows the location of my PortableApps(-Profiles) and backs it up to a 7zip-file.

command-line switches, portableapps menu

Submitted by NiveusLuna on June 17, 2008 - 1:10pm

Is there a way to incorporate command line switches for programs using the portableapps menu? I run mIRC from my flash drive, but whenever I open it from the menu, it assumes it's supposed to use the registry. I have to open up a command prompt and use the -portable switch to get it to do what I want.
Is this part of the menu already, or should I make a feature request?
