good morning and happy new year, i've already search on site and forum, about the option for automatic change of desktop wallpaper integrated on suite, but it does'nt work and the chats on forum about this option are very old, the right procedure is: I put a BMP image in IMAGE FOLDER in the PORTABLE APPS PROGRAM, and rename " portableapps_wallpaper.bmp " and put inthe image folder but it does'nt work !!!!! i've tried many times.... in 2025 with windows 10 and 11 this method can work properly or not ? Thanks very much

Previously I've been using my medicat bootable USB/nvme and if I disable the antivirus ( I have programs that trigger it ) I can load up my portable apps and have it update from the store or download new portable apps.

Recently I've been working on more streamlined use base USB drives. And it seems the fresh portableapp setups dropped into the root of my ventoy USB cannot download most of the apps I've selected from the store without stating :

I keep seeing the following error: "Failed to execute script "pyi_rth_tkinter" due to unhandled exception, Tcl data directory not found"
What's causing this and how do i fix it?

Is it expected behaviour that PAP doesn't look for revision updates? I currently have GIMP v2.10.38 and it was updated to v2.10.38 revision 1 in March but PAP doesn't list it in the app updates?

I just did a restore from a backup last night and instead of OVERWRITING what was in there, it created DUPLICATES of old files and folders that were already in there, doubling the space used on the usb drive. Old files that I have either updated or no longer want.

I basically had to reformat the usb to clear everything out that was in there and essentially install it blank (except for the portable app itself) and start all over again.

That's not a proper restore. A restore should overwrite everything and delete what's not in the 7-zip backup, itself.

I hesitaed for a long time to start using the PortableApps platform, although I have used portable apps for a good number of years, but the platform eventually conviced me, so now I just love it!
I have e number of email ccounts/profiles, one personal and one for a club I manage. Can I have multiple instances of the PortableApps platform - of course on diferent drives - so to keep my accounts end emails better organized?

How to find and download an older version of some portable app, in my case an older portable Opera browser version? Doesn't portableapps.com have this feature?

and you are able to enable search plugins...i've the latests 4.6.7 and i have lost all of my search plugins...

Hello all,

I have at least one application (GhostScript), shown as installed on the 'Get more Apps' dialogue, which is not in the PortableApps folder (Windows10).
How can this be corrected, and how can the actually installed apps be checked manually against the supposedly installed app list?
