Executable file not recognised

Submitted by paulvp on June 30, 2024 - 2:23am

I recently converted a .bat file to a .exe file using the first process described here (i.e. using IExpress):

https://adamtheautomator.com/bat-to-exe/

I have placed the resultant .exe file in its own folder inside the PortableApps folder, but the PA Platform fails to recognise/find this .exe file. Yes, I have refreshed the app icons and even restarted the computer and PA platform but no joy. If I navigate to the folder and double click on the .exe file it performs as expected.

Unable to download apps e.g. Chrome portable

Hi,

Not sure if it is me or is there a problem downloading apps. I have used different browsers (Vivaldi, Floorp) but the download simply stopped midway.

Tried downloading a few apps but all ended up the same way - stopped midway.

Has been like that for the past 2 days already.

Anyone having the same issue?

Thanks

App Updater Pop-up Prevents Windows Shutdown

Submitted by Teston on June 4, 2024 - 2:37pm

I'm curious if it would be possible to allow Windows to close the updater window as part of its shutdown procedure.

Case 1:
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Portable Apps platform.
2. Click the apps button
3. Click Check for updates
4. Updater pop-up shows apps that have updates available
5. Go to Windows start menu, click the power button, and select shut down

Expected behaviour
The portable app updater window is closed, and Windows successfully shuts down.

Remember the last screen location the Platform was open at

When I open portable apps, it starts at the top right corner of the monitor.
I then move it down to the bottom right location of the monitor.
Upon shutting down and restart, portable apps returns to the top right corner of the monitor.
This is a recent issue and did not exist prior to February 2024.
This appears to have started with portableApps 29.3
PortableApps 29.5
Windows 8.1 64bit
Single monitor
