PortableApps.com Platform

Hello!
Anyone know if is there a way to increase the number of visible apps in the main menu of PortableApps?

I don't remember why, but when I started using Portable Apps, I used to download zips individually, and unzip the zip files in a folder/directory structure/hierarchy I created. That is, I used them without using the PortableAppsPlatform.

Nowadays I quite like this folder/directory structure/hierarchy.

But it's a headache updating these apps. Gotta download the zip, then aim the unzip correctly etc.

PortableApps\Q-DirPortable\App\Q-Dir\Q-Dir_x64.exe is blocked by windows defender and moved to quarantine

because it is reported as

Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.H!ml

This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.

Newest version of defender running under Win 11 Pro..

False/positiv?

Does the PortableApps application no longer work on Windows XP posready? After starting, I permanently receive such a message:

I kept getting this error:

Google Chrome Portable | PortableApps.com Installer

The installer was unable to download Google Chrome (Stable). The installation of the portable app will be incomplete without it. Please try installing again. (ERROR: Reget Error)

It wasn't until I played peek-a-boo by switching back-and forth while it was downloading Chrome did it finally fully download and the install of Chrome 135 portable was successful. This was an issue a week or two ago.

I keep randomly getting this error for various apps, before it was Firefox when I tried updating it, now it was Notepad2 while Notepad++ installed just fine in same batch install of 2 apps. I don't have any proxy or network issues and I don't know why would hosting server not permit the download for my location as popup mentions. I've also checked my DNS logs and there is nothing being blocked there.

Why is this happening?

I've got a brand new 256GB Sandisk flash drive. When I install the platform, any time I use the one app that I install (Chrome 64) my system "hangs" for sometimes up to 30 seconds. It's not stable at all.

I've tried partitioning the drive to a 32GB partition for it to run, that did not help.
I've tried formating NTFS, that did not help
I've tried running ExFAT on the whole 256GB (No Partitions) that did not help.

It just seems overall not stable.

Great work all these long years, I am back once again to set up a portable library.

A few questions if you don't mind, I found it hard to search the forum, so will just ask here.

A) Can I block a single app from update? I have a license for PDF Exchange Editor Plus; an old build from last year, so don't want the app to auto update. Can an ini file or something control if a app updates?

When i start the platform (29.5.3) the desktop icons disappear. On a second pc it wouldn't do this.

Is this a feature or a rare bug?

Does anybody know about this?
