I need to use two chrome apps for different uses

The search should have an option in what subforum (on what page) to search, at least in the "Advanced search" on the results-page. That would be very useful, as of now, you can't do many forum-related usfeul things with the search. For example I can't search for help for a certain portable app, if I enter the search term, results of any place on the website (or forums if i selected that in advanced search) are displayed. I bet an often use case is to find something on the website in general, anyhow, to be able to use the search for the forums precisely.

I installed the Portable Apps Platform onto my flash drive, as well as the Firefox browser. However, the graphics program I like (Faststone) offers its own portable program, and is not available as a download here at this site. I tried simply copying the folder onto my flash drive, but the PAP does not see this in the flash drive and list it in the index/start menu.

Is there any way to install a non-PAP app onto the USB drive, and have PAP see it so I can have a shortcut in the start menu?

I'm using Portable Apps Platform,
one of my Apps is Filezilla.
When I launch it, it says there are updates; but when I check for updates from Platform, it says no updates are available (for any App).
Do you experience the same thing ?
I'm using Filezilla 3.10.1.1 (it says the newest version is 3.11.0.2) ; Platform version is 12.0.5. My OS is Windows 8.1.

Description: Topic is focused to identify how to configure the portableapps platform manages to pass parameters (or commonly called switches) at application startup.

On double-clicking "start.exe" on USB drive root, grey portableapps frame appears but program stops there. Popup specifies module not found. ClassID:{56FDF344-FD6D-11D0-958A-006097-C9A090}. This has only appeared since upgrading to 12.05. Have tried to uninstall and reinstall but have the same problem. PC is Windows 7 Pro. Has not been upgraded since August 2014. Thanks

thought I'd make a small contribution...
Using portable apps for a while now as my main apps. That means there's a the strict minimum installed on my c: partition to keep the system clean.
What had been bugging me was that the file association was not integrated in the system. I tried coffee and some others but I prefer a more direct approach, since all my portableApps are permanently on my d: partition. So here's a (little) vbscript to do just that. Tested on win7x64. Edit at your convenience, save in a text file with vbs extension and double-clic.
