Setting Menue

Is it possible to add a setting menu such that when you right click on the program it is one of the options available. The setting menu will work with AppNamePortable.ini located in the AppNamePortable directory next to AppNamePortable.exe. This way you remove one more need to manually edit files in the directory.

Sync .paf apps between desktop and USB device

Submitted by tonihb on March 11, 2015 - 7:03pm

I have used PortableApps for many, many, years. Just on my desktop in recent years. I used to keep a flash drive and a desktop installed PortableApps platforms in sync with each other. I do not see how to do that anymore. So far, I do not see syncing mentioned on the site - except a couple minor irrelevant references.

Years ago: I would work on one or the other, plug my flash drive into my PC, and they would sync.

Can PortableApps apps on separate devices be synced?

Hi John,

As you requested in topic https://portableapps.com/node/43393, I am making a new topic.
My problem is as follows:
- the updater seems to update my apps, but if I rerun the updater, the apps need to be updated again.
- My PortableApps folder is located within my My Documents folder C:\Users\abcdefg\Documents\PA. The Portable Apps are located in the subfolder 'PortableApps'
- I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit

Thumb drive problems

Submitted by fenwaydog on February 13, 2015 - 9:03pm

So i installed the portable apps platform, it works great. One problem i have though is the fact that it renamed y thumb drive and changed the logo. The name is required for work so i can collaborate effectively and it would be a pain to change this. Anyone know how to change the name back to work1?

Updater problem

Submitted by Hasle on February 7, 2015 - 4:01pm

I have a problem with the updater: When I try to update I get a long list of programs. I try to update all of them, and the updater works for a long time, downloading and updating. When I start the updater again, I get the same list – the programs have obviously not been updated.
I try to download a single program installer and run it, but it says it cannot write to a certain file. When I run the installer as administrator, it works, and the program disappears from the next list.
I suppose there is a silly setting that is wrong. Can you help me?
