OneDrive Installation Issue

Submitted by phillfri on January 15, 2015 - 12:59am

I have installed the PortableApps Platform on OneDrive. It works fine from the computer (using Win 8.1) from which I installed it. I can launch the PortableApps platform and run installed portable apps.

But when I try to launch the PortableApps platform from OneDrive using my Asus VivoTab Note 8 (also using Win 8.1) I get the following PortableApps.com Platform error message:

"Cannot open file
'C:\Users\Phill_000\OneDrive\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\Chrome\matte.png'. The file cannot be accessed by the system."

How to uninstall PortableApp Plateform

Submitted by Garamante on January 12, 2015 - 6:50am

I first installed PortableApp Plateform on a sd card. But later I decided to install the whole thing on a usb key. Perfect. No problem. But it's just merely impossible to uninstall the portableApp Platform from my former sd card. Tried format, a simple erase, an partition erase and... PortableApp appear again like a charm. Just incredible.

Have you got an answer to that great mystery?

Updater looses all my apps

Submitted by LastSamurai on January 8, 2015 - 1:15pm

Hey there, I used portable apps with about 30 apps for some years now. Today when I started the launcher again (usually I just use shortcuts) it asked me to update the launcher, which I allowed. After that the launcher restarted and asked me to install apps from the list of available apps. I checked none of the boxes because I already have installed any app that I need at the moment.

How to make updater silently install all updates?

Hello.

When portableapps platform finds updates it shows a window with the list of available apps updates. When hit update button the updater starts downloading all the apps, and when finished it start installing them.
Many apps get updated silently, but A LOT are showing installer window where we have to press "next" button in order for it to continue. As you can imagine having 20+ apps to confirm is gets quiet old quickly.

How to make the updater do the updates silently without need of human interaction?

How to remove the Windows 8 'pinned' Icon?

I'm sure this is in a FAQ or document. Alas I could not find it searching with Google or the Forums here.

On Windows 8.1 how do I turn off the 'pinned' icon that Windows puts on the left side of the screen when Portable Apps is running?
I didn't 'pin' the icon it just comes up when Portable Apps is started at boot.

The icon is in the tray on the right where it should be. I don't want it on both places.

The platform cries...

Anytime an app in the list restarts the system or puts itself on the system tray (and not closed properly) the launcher refuses to run it the next time it's used, complaining the app wasn't closed properly.

I also have the option set to close all apps upon launcher exit, which obviously don't work, since I also see a complaint that "such and such app is still running, close it first" when I try to exit the platform, where it refuses to close. Irritating, to say the least.. Please fix it?

Nothing like sitting down at someone's computer and my own tools won't work....

Get More Apps not showing all available apps

Submitted by zmni on December 5, 2014 - 8:52am

This is what I get => http://i.imgur.com/f0TtPan.png for every options I click on Get More Apps menu. Same view, same list of apps.

I put all my PortableApps in an encrypted VHD. It still normal after I encrypted the VHD, but after a while I get this problem. I try to reinstall all the apps and the platform it self, but nothing change, I still get the same result.

I don't know if this bug or what, please help. Thank you.
