Due to foum engine limitations, it's not possible to subscribe to all new topics created in the Toucan forum. And given my free time limitations, it is unfortunately rather inconvenient for me to visit forum all the time just to check if there are any updates, so I'd prefer folks to report issues on GitHub right away, their notifications system helps me be up-to-date with much less effort. And forums, on the contrary, are a good place for general questions, usage tips and so on, where my direct involvement is not that important as community can chime in.
You are here
I've just posted the 3.1.6 on GitHub for those who want to jump onto the new version right away.
There is a couple of bugfixes, 7-Zip version update and "Do Not Log Skipped Files" option for Sync (as requested on the forum earlier) in the box. I'll give it a week and change the status to "Release".
I would like to use Toucan 3.1 in the office and yesterday I wanted to create a full backup (about 30 GByte data in a file structure on Windows 10. My aim is first to make a full backup and then to make differential backups.
Every time during the compressing process Toucan aborts with a System Error. I habe attached a log file. The last file that is mentioned in the log immediately at the system error is not currpted. I have checked it.
My question: A simple bug or do I have to obey any restrictions (e .g. supported file types)?
Best regards veverl
I've installed Toucan on a 1 TB portable USB drive. It works great on my Windows 10 home computer but when I try to synch files with my work computer I get the following message:
*** Caught unhandled unknown exception; terminating
And that's it. Is it not possible to synch files on my work computer? Yes, there are company restrictions, for example we are not allowed to install software without IT intervention, which is why I have it installed on a USB drive rather than on the computer.
Sorry I am sure that this is a super stupid question and that I just have the syntax wrong.
But this is what I am using on the command line:
"E:\Toucan\Toucan.exe" -j=BackupC -l="E:\Toucan\log.txt"
Toucan runs my BackupC job, but it does not create a log file. What am I doing wrong?
I have created three jobs i.e. Sync1 Sync2 Sync3.
How to execute them one after the other in a single click (using not .bat command please) ?
Thanks in advance
I try to sync to my Samsung S7, but the folder browser doesn't even show the phone to choose as destination. Does anyone else have trouble syncing with MTP? Or maybe has found a solution?
Is there a way to turn off the "Skip" msgs in the Progress window?
edit: Just wondering if I did something wrong here... maybe put it in the wrong place?
The included Help documentation indicates v 3.1.3. Will there be an update for 3.1.5?
