Does Toucan currently support Incremental Backups?
Am I crazy for trying to run a 2.5TB backup to a 7zip file, to a 100mbps nas? Also, a nas that never runs anywhere near that...
Okay actually I just bought a new USB 3.0 enclosure, which should be here by wednesday lol.
But still... even to a USB3 enclosure... am I crazy for thinking that my little ole' laptop will be able to handle a 2.5TB backup to a 7zip file? I've been running to my local drive as a test for almost 20 hours now and its white-ing out at only 35GB.
For these types of very very large backups, should I just be using the sync/mirror?
Hey guys,
I love love love Toucan so far, and I have my first question!
Does anybody know how to see detailed progress information? So far I just see the "Progress" window with all the "Compressing [some file]", or telling me its making a list of files, or whatever, and a green bar up top.
I would like to be able to see details like:
- Time spent so far
- Estimated time remaining
- Total files to examine
- Total files examined
- Total files remaining to examine
- Total files backed up
- Total files not backed up
- % Complete
how can I include three synchronizations in just a job?
thanks!

Hello,
I'm trying to run a ~80GB sync using Toucan 3.0.4 on Windows 7 (32bit) mirroring from my main drive (NTFS) to a FAT32 external drive, and it's incredibly slow.
I started the job last night around 10pm and now (7:30am next morning) progress bar indicates a job completion rate of some 5-10%. At this moment, Toucan is copying cache files from my Mozilla profiles folder, each weighing in at some 30kB, at a speed of 1 of these per every 10 seconds!
Just installed. Crashes often.
Hi,
I'd like to build Toucan on a Windows XP machine. I tried almost all suggestions posted in topic https://portableapps.com/node/22783 but without success.
The offending source statement was:
#include <boost/threadpool.hpp>
because the threadpool library is not included in the latest Boost release. Actually, this library seems abandoned: the latest version (0.2.5) available on SourceForge is already four years old.
Toucan is a great backup program. I backup my data to multiple external locations. I was wondering though, when Toucan displays the Progress screen when running my script and says "Copied c:\\, can it also add an extension to the line saying "to U:\\" , so I know which backup is occurring at that time??
I hope this little extra can be added.
Does using the password option on a backup to 7-z use the same AES-256 encryption as the encrypt tab?
Hi.
I got this error message:
11:24:15 Error:
Duplicate filename:
ori\fileadmin\imagenes\becas_opotunidades\Logos\erika.jpg
ori\fileadmin\imagenes\becas_opotunidades\Logos\erika.JPG
How can I avoid this since I'm backuping a Linux based system and is possible I have many of these cases.
Can Toucan rename automatically when it find duplicates?
Thanks for the help.
