Next version to be released?

Submitted by Jackz on June 13, 2011 - 9:27am

I was just curious as to what the next version of LibreOfficePortable will be. Can we expect a 3.4.x version next, or is the intention that the portable version will stick to the 3.3.x releases? Also (probably asking the impossible) can someone indicate more or less when we can expect the next portable version? Just a rough guess (accurate to within a month) would suffice.

OpenOffice files broken in LibreOffice

I've got a file using indentation and tabs, created with OpenOffice Portable 3.2.0, the latest portable version currently available. The layout is fine in OpenOffice. When I open that file in LibreOffice Portable 3.3.2, the layout is broken.

Is this a general problem in LibreOffice, or is it an issue of the portable version?

I created a small file that demonstrates this problem. The file is self-explaining. Unfortunately, I did not find a way to upload it. So, if someone wants to take a look at it, just send me a message, and I will mail it.

Language issue: German spellchecking in Calc buggy

Submitted by depp.jones on May 16, 2011 - 4:45pm

Like in the subject: I (edit: sometimes) cannot choose german language for spellchecking in LibreOfficeCalc Portable. I can choose Dänisch (danish), the list entry before Deutsch (german), but when selecting german, it always jumps to English (USA). I can select other entries, but german simply is unselectable. Autocorrection does not work (edit: then) either.
Thesaurus and syllable division work, though.
I reinstalled the full install (clean install) because I used the experimental remove unwanted languages feature at first, but no luck, same issue.

Separate Program from Data File in LibreOffice Database

Submitted by PaulARLowe on May 15, 2011 - 5:42pm

I have developed an integrated OpenOffice Portable Base .odb file in version 3.20. The database has a number of related tables and several macros. When the database works, it is a great tool. However, I have become extremely frustrated with the number of times that the file has crashed and been unrecoverable. I have been advised that it would be more stable to create separate program and data files but the instructions for doing this on various forums is extremely complex and confusing.

-convert-to command line option

Submitted by drjones on April 26, 2011 - 12:44pm

I'm attempting to use the -convert-to command line option to convert files between formats without using LibreOffice's GUI. Here's an example command:

LibreOfficePortable.exe -headless -convert-to pdf untitled.odt

The command executes silently (returning no output of any sort), but doesn't appear to create an output file.

I've tried the command from both the Windows command line and from MSYS. I've also tried several other variants (such as calling soffice.exe directly) with the same result.

Has anyone had success with this operation?

Hi guys

has anyone come across the above when editing files on different machines? The files were saved and closed correctly, but they seem to keep getting 'locked for editing'
