[Fixed] 3.4.3/3.4.4 fails to start

Submitted by ottosykora on September 12, 2011 - 4:12am

Tried on XP, w7 and now also on w2k (just to see what it does) and did so far not manage to launch 3.4.3

it crashes on loading some of the extensions bundled extensions, either nonlinear math or some others.
It crashes also apparently on file soffice.bin.exe

Tried clean install, same effect, xp, w7 are not able to launch it at all.

Furthermore, when attempting to launch it from the next computer, I am getting a message saying that other users are running this copy already. As user is indicated the name of the computer where the stick was inserted as last.

LibreOffice Macro Form Option (Radio) buttons

Submitted by prizm1 on August 18, 2011 - 10:09pm

The latest version 3.4.2 has a problem with Option button grouping on forms. If you have more than one set of grouped option buttons on a form, only one option button in all the differently grouped sets of option buttons can be selected. For those who have spreadsheets utilizing the built-in Basic macro programming code, this will make your spreadsheet unusable. This is a known bug in version 3.4.2. Too bad PortableApps does not provide earlier app versions to download. LibreOffice version 3.3.4 does not have this option button problem.

I can not change / modify the file association so that they open the new version 3.4.2

Hi,

1. I've been running LibreOffice Portable v.3.3.3, no problem.
(Location: C:\Users \Patris \Downloads \LibreOffice \LibreOfficePortable).

2. Install the new version 3.4.2, in the same location as the previous version (3.3.3), however, does not accept installed in the same folder above says that the location is invalid, I should create another location. Undo the previous process.

4. Generating a new folder location and install LibreOfficePortable v.3.4.2
(new location: C:\Users \Patris \Downloads \LibreOfficePortable ) Now open and working properly on the version.

LibreOffice 3.4.2 fails to complete launch

Submitted by Jeremy Cox on August 11, 2011 - 10:45am

Upgraded from 3.3.2 to 3.4.2 on Windows 7 this morning. Now when I launch any of the LibreOffice apps (calc, writer, etc.) the launcher gets part way through, and then fails with a "LibreOffice 3.4 has stopped working" message from Windows.

Initially, it failed while the launcher said it was loading the Hungarian disctionary information. So I deleted all of the Hungarian dictionary pieces. That got me past that bit of the loading process.

Now, it fails at "Enabling script provider for BeanShell". Tried removing the scripts/beanshell folder, but it made no difference.

Further LibreOffice 3.3.x releases

I see that LibreOffice Portable executables for 3.4.2 don't have "Test" in their name anymore. Does that mean that further releases of the 3.3.x series won't be portablized? Or perhaps as some sort of LibreOfficeLegacy release?

At this point, a release candidate of 3.3.4 is already there, the final release is due in a week, and 3.3.5 is also planned.

Libreoffice - multiple instances

Submitted by Leon B on August 8, 2011 - 12:20pm

Hello!

Today I tried to compare OpenOffice Portable 3.2.0 and LibreOffice Portable 3.3.3.
When I'm starting first LibreOffice, then OpenOffice, everything works.
If I'm doing it the other way, the LibreOffice Portable launcher gives me an error message that another instance of LibreOffice is already running.
I checked also for the setting "SinglePortableAppInstance", but its not set.
Is there a way to "activate" the possibility to use multiple Instances of LibreOffice?

Regards,
Leon
