LibreOffice Portable

I can not change / modify the file association so that they open the new version 3.4.2

Submitted by patris on August 11, 2011 - 5:38pm

Hi,

1. I've been running LibreOffice Portable v.3.3.3, no problem.
(Location: C:\Users \Patris \Downloads \LibreOffice \LibreOfficePortable).

2. Install the new version 3.4.2, in the same location as the previous version (3.3.3), however, does not accept installed in the same folder above says that the location is invalid, I should create another location. Undo the previous process.

4. Generating a new folder location and install LibreOfficePortable v.3.4.2
(new location: C:\Users \Patris \Downloads \LibreOfficePortable ) Now open and working properly on the version.

LibreOffice 3.4.2 fails to complete launch

Submitted by Jeremy Cox on August 11, 2011 - 10:45am

Upgraded from 3.3.2 to 3.4.2 on Windows 7 this morning. Now when I launch any of the LibreOffice apps (calc, writer, etc.) the launcher gets part way through, and then fails with a "LibreOffice 3.4 has stopped working" message from Windows.

Initially, it failed while the launcher said it was loading the Hungarian disctionary information. So I deleted all of the Hungarian dictionary pieces. That got me past that bit of the loading process.

Now, it fails at "Enabling script provider for BeanShell". Tried removing the scripts/beanshell folder, but it made no difference.

Further LibreOffice 3.3.x releases

I see that LibreOffice Portable executables for 3.4.2 don't have "Test" in their name anymore. Does that mean that further releases of the 3.3.x series won't be portablized? Or perhaps as some sort of LibreOfficeLegacy release?

At this point, a release candidate of 3.3.4 is already there, the final release is due in a week, and 3.3.5 is also planned.

Libreoffice - multiple instances

Submitted by Leon B on August 8, 2011 - 12:20pm

Hello!

Today I tried to compare OpenOffice Portable 3.2.0 and LibreOffice Portable 3.3.3.
When I'm starting first LibreOffice, then OpenOffice, everything works.
If I'm doing it the other way, the LibreOffice Portable launcher gives me an error message that another instance of LibreOffice is already running.
I checked also for the setting "SinglePortableAppInstance", but its not set.
Is there a way to "activate" the possibility to use multiple Instances of LibreOffice?

Regards,
Leon

Flash Drive as Ram issue?

Submitted by sdfgeoff on August 7, 2011 - 8:31pm

Firstly a big thanks to the people who maintain portable apps. They must be the programs I use most.

I recently changed from Open Office to Libre Office, and am having a problem.
When I am using Libre Office from my flash drive (4gb) it decides to use the flash drive as RAM. This means that moving an image 3 pixels to the right takes 15 seconds or so, due the write speed of the flash drive.
I know that it is using the flash drive due to watching the access light go crazy when if hangs.

v.3.4.1 cannot set user interface language

Hello,

I installed LibO portable v.3.4.1 multilanguage with all languages, set the UserInterface, LocalSettings, DefaultLanguage to german language (Tools> Options> LanguageSettings> Languages>) "changes take effekt after restart" after restart, language settings for DefaultLanguage and LocaleSettings were still set german, UserInterface language was changed back to english (USA).

so I copied my LibO v3.4.1 (nonportable)settings, which works fine with german userInterface language to my portable LibO installation.

What is the correct process for upgrading to a new version?

Submitted by patris on July 13, 2011 - 7:11pm

Hi,

I have installed and running ok, version: LibreOffice Portable 3.3.3
The application is installed on my computer at the following location:

C:\Users\xxxxx\Downloads\LibreOffice.

LibreOffice
.......LibreOfficePortable (v.3.3.3)

Now, I want to install the new version 3.4.1 Test. How should I do?

The data indicate that must be installed, for now, in a "separate directory"
The question is: separate from what?
1. within the existing directory: LibreOfficePortable (3.3.3)? (like child?)
2. outside, as the brother of the existing directory?
3. Other?...
