I need to rename chrome.exe so apps like chevolume see it as different app

Submitted by kiwiman2000 on July 12, 2018 - 10:54am

Hi

Is there anyway to rename the chrome.exe so the portable.exe finds it still
so the instance of the name is different to the internal chrome or
another portable chrome versions on another partitions.
some ini file or commandline -binname=usbchrome

as need chevolume to separate them so I can redirect the volumes to virtual sound drivers

cheers

Google Chrome Portable 67.0.3396.99 crashes Firefox and stays in memory after close

This is being typed on PortableApps Firefox 60.02.
Open Chrome with 1 tab and it crashes Firefox or Waterfox. First it crashes the Stylish, Ublock Origin and a few more extensions then Firefox. Before the update everything co-existed without probems.
Looking in Process Explorer I can see GoogleChromePortable.exe and 1 subprocess with 5 below it.
Close Chrome and only the last spawned process closes.
The main program and 4 below it are still running.
I don't update every time so I'm not sure what version I updated from.

Google Chrome Portable opens in a separate window

By hyperlink or other protocols Google Chrome Portable opens in a separate window, not a separate tab. How to fix in Windows 10 64-bit?

По гиперссылке или другим протоколам Google Chrome Portable открывается в отдельном окне, а не отдельной вкладкой. Как исправить в Windows 10 64-bit?

OperaPortable is using Official Opera Portable. But using --ppapi-flash-path="pepflashplayer.dll" command line option Flash Player can't load Flash objects, but loads Flash plug-in and identifies at https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
Your Flash Version - 99.999.999
Your browser name - Opera (PPAPI)
Your Operating System (OS) - Windows (Windows 7)

[Launch]
ProgramExecutable=Opera\launcher.exe
CommandLineArguments=--ppapi-flash-path="pepflashplayer.dll"

Not used where do we go ? / Google Chrome

Submitted by DADSGETNDOWN on June 18, 2018 - 2:05am

If this forum isn't used where do we go for things that have no forum/support? Google Chrome for instance is not a choice in App Specific or Internet forums. My Original reason to post, Google Chrome right now version 67.0.3396.87 says it is 42MB Download 154MB Installed, but I download using the PA Banner which takes me to Sourceforge, after downloading it says it is 1.6MB, why is that ? I expect the full 42MB.

Chrome Portable 64 showing as 32 bit in Task Manager Win 10

Submitted by vinieux on June 8, 2018 - 1:36am

I have a laptop with Windows 10 pro on which I use Google Chrome Portable from Portable Apps. It helps me keep my browser settings and bookmarks on a key-chain pen drive because I travel quite a bit and have to use other people's computers.

Here's the problem. When I start it up and check Task Manager, it shows Google Chrome right on top under Apps with the number of processes it is running. But below that it shows another entry under Background Processes which says Google Chrome Portable (32 bit).
