Chrome portable looses all "extensions" when started on another machine - how to clean up diskspace

Submitted by andreask on August 3, 2018 - 9:44am

"Chrome Portable" looses all "extensions" when started on another machine.

A PITA really.

And if I just accepted that, and reinstalled all my extensions that I need again and again ...
... I suppose that also wastes a lot of disk space, right?
Because the extensions disappear from the browser, but probably not from the disk, right?

So:

How to clean up the extensions diskspace when ChromePortable has f**ked up, and lost all its extensions, just because I plugged in the USB stick into another computer?

Thanks a lot!

Maintain Google login while using Chrome via USB on different computers

Submitted by caspian915 on July 31, 2018 - 3:42pm

Is there any way to maintain my Google login (among others) on Chrome while using it on different computers? I use Chrome portable via a USB drive because I regularly have to switch workstations over the course of my day at my job. I use Chrome portable so I do not have an instance of Chrome with my personal info on every computer. However, each time I open it on a different computer, I have to login to Chrome and to a few other extensions (notably, LastPass) each time.

Chrome acting up after Win10 update

Hello everyone,

just ran into a "little snag"- probably just something stupid.

I have 4 separate portable Chrome profiles, in different folders, for different purposes (keeping the amount of add ons to a minimum). They have been working for years side by side. I just updated them once a year to he latest version.

After the latest Win10 upgrade they stopped working. When I try to open any of them, nothing at all happens.

utorrent portable

After trying to upgrade to the latest utorrent portable, it seems to me it is no longer portable. It is downloading a beta version which has autoupdate turned on by default and the option to disable updates is greyed out so you cannot shut off the updates. It ends up installing the updated version to c:\users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\utorrent\utorrent.exe . This, in my mind makes it no longer portable.

I need to rename chrome.exe so apps like chevolume see it as different app

Hi

Is there anyway to rename the chrome.exe so the portable.exe finds it still
so the instance of the name is different to the internal chrome or
another portable chrome versions on another partitions.
some ini file or commandline -binname=usbchrome

as need chevolume to separate them so I can redirect the volumes to virtual sound drivers

cheers
