OperaMail - can't open through the PA interface

Submitted by BillBliss on February 28, 2018 - 8:39am

When I go to the PortableApps interface and click on Opera Mail I get a message saying: Cannot find "d:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\operamail.dll" - and, of course, Opera Mail won't open. If I navigate to the OperaMailPortable directory, and doubleclick the OperaMaiPortable.exe directly, it works fine.

How do I get this to launch normally?

Thanks in advance!

Increase Cache Size of Opera Portable

Submitted by JT83 on February 23, 2018 - 4:16pm

If I'm not mistaken, the older or previous versions of Opera (I don't remember which one, but it's quite old, maybe in 30 or 40 branch) did not seem to limit the cache. I remember my cache folder had over 500MB in size once. The problem is the new Opera seems to limit the cache size to around 250-260MB. I am accessing my online album for photography very often and I like to keep everything cached for faster and shorter loading/access time, especially when I travel and have to use slow connection at the place I visit.

Opera, Portable Edition persistent aborts and corruption

Submitted by OzPortableLongTerm on February 9, 2018 - 6:40am

For a number of Opera releases now, I am experiencing persistent Opera Portable problems that have rendered it unreliable to the point of being unuseable.

Some symptoms:
- On startup within PortableApps, Opera will start with, apparently, a fresh, initialised profile and all user settings, extensions, bookmarks will be missing. This does not correlate with any other observable changes. It does not happen following an upgrade. It just happens, frequently.

Chrome is not portable!

I found Logs in my AppData dir:
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Google\Software Reporter Tool
Generated by a spying Tool: "Software Reporter Tool"
D:\PortableApps\PortableApps\GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\SwReporter\25.139.200
Not at all nice.
