Is Opera 56.0.3051.36 ready for release?
thank you
I'm having issues with Opera crashing with the error "The application was unable to start correctly 0xc000007b".
Opera was installed using the portableapps menu (installed the paf.exe).
Portable apps version is 15.02 on Win10 x64 1803. Potplayer also gives the same problem.
Any ideas?
In the past Chrome was released as full portable offline installer. See here:

Since v69 only an installer is available. See here:

I hate installers which (down)load additional stuff from remote servers.
So I prefer a full package.
I have Google Chrome (48.0.2564.116) Portable installed, and I use it on Windows XP. This is the most current version which works on Win XP, so I cannot update to the latest version (or any version newer than 48.0.2564.116).
QUESTION 1:
As of a couple of days ago, every time I start up Chrome, it gives me a popup windows saying,
Your preferences can not be read.
Some features may be unavailable and changes to preferences won't be saved.
I have got a detection from Avira Antivirus during instalaltion of Opera Portable. I uninstalled it.
I guess it's not a virus but ad-ware or something. Nonetheless Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection removes the FileZilla files and flags it as
"PUA:Win32/FusionCore". Even if it's a false positive, this makes this portable app unusable and not very portable. Earlier versions of FileZilla were fine.
You have 222e454a3f85749b3af06943524d90a6 listed as the hash for Lynx Portable 2.8.9 but I'm getting 00f7be845016223ac53d62572689e309. Downloaded twice to be sure.
This new version does not work well on windows 8.1 64 bit
it said it was not responding
and had to close it through task manager
reinstalled it 3 times and in order to do so you had to reboot your computer
the folder would not delete unless you did so
reinstalled the old one and its fine.
I had Chrome portable all set up and working beautifully on my thumb drive, with all extensions functioning optimally.
Then yesterday when it opened it said an update was available. I didn't see any harm in updating it since I had installed it only two weeks ago. However the result was disastrous. It basically stopped working for me; namely, pages took FOREVER to load.
