AbiWord: Adding a right click New Word Document to Vista

Submitted by Megafrog on January 20, 2009 - 2:11pm

Hi. I wanted to have a right-clickable "create new MS Word Document" feature from the Windows Explorer "New" menu in Vista64, and I like having the portable apps that I can just copy into place rather than having to install them. Apparently Vista only seems to allow registered programs to be selected for inclusion in its usual way of accessing the right click "new" menu. Is there any other answer than having to use software that's included in the registry? Thanks!

Just like how Adobe opens pdfs inside firefox. Problem is that my Firefox always crashes once it opens Adobe Reader to open the pdf. I tried to tweak settings on Menu>Tools>Options>Applications>Adobe Acrobat Document and changed that to be open using Sumatra PDF. I clicking on a .pdf site and it is just blank (sometimes Firefox Crashes)

Sumatra PDF portable phones home(!)

as most mobile internet access (:here) is really expensive and next, establishing a connenction takes minutes (think of sitting in a moving non-ICE train...) at least these two are reason enough to KICK OFF SumatraPDF from portableapps.com(!)

No, I could NOT find any "settings" option as "[ ] automatic check for update".
