Shared Sunbird profile

Submitted by mattyb on May 22, 2008 - 1:43pm

Hi

I run native Sunbird on a mixture of Macs and Linux boxes at work, and I'd really like to use the portable Sunbird on Windows too. I share my profile on the Mac and Linux versions using symbolic links pointing to my data on a flash drive. I don't know enough about Windows to get the portable Sunbird to also refer to this single folder. Could anyone let me know if this is possible, and if so, how?

Many thanks.

Sunbird: Event description saving issue

Submitted by yenshop on April 25, 2008 - 3:09am

After creating an event, I double click it then select to edit "This occurrence only". Then, I edit the description and click on "Save and Close". But when I go back to the event, the description hasn't been saved. I have this problem whenever a window asking to edit all occurrences or this occurrence only appears. Is this an issue with the software or an issue with my Sunbird Portable?

Sunbird: Hour height

Submitted by shimanotaka on April 23, 2008 - 6:22am

Hi,

I just updated from Sunbird 0.2 to 0.8, and suddenly the hour periods are much taller than before. Now only 9 hours fits on the screen, where my entire day fit before. I don't want to have to do a lot of scrolling, but would prefer to have my entire day/week on screen at once. Is there any possibility to decrease the hour height in the day/week view?

AbiWord: Fonts location

Submitted by buddly99 on April 19, 2008 - 1:04pm

Somehow the portable version should look for the fonts on the flash drive or the host computer. It now looks at the host computer for the windows font file, if I have used fonts that are not on the host then I have a problem with display of the fonts.

And yes I know the fix is to use the default fonts on standard windows install.

Sunbird 0.8 with Provider 0.4 works, syncing with Google Calendar

I was never able to get Sb 0.7 to sync but 0.8 works fine. Just give it the iCal address for the Google calendar.

I don't have any luck getting Lightning 0.8 to sync, though. It doesn't even offer me a place to point it to Google. Maybe I've missed something?

AbiWord: open doc from command line

Submitted by bosully on April 13, 2008 - 7:35pm

E.G., AbiwordPortable.exe to-do.txt

using Vista SP1 with OneCare antivirus
AbiwordPortable.exe v2.4.6 on an old CD still opens and loads to-do.txt
AbiwordPortable.exe v2.6.2 will open without loading to-do.txt
Abiword.exe v2.6.2 also will open without loading to-do.txt

What did I overlook? (I tried DOS, batch, autohotkey.)
