Portable AbiWord Malfunction

Submitted by port_user on June 10, 2010 - 9:27pm

I changed the language settings in the AbiWord 2.6 installed on D partition. After that the menu in Abi disappeared, and then I could not (and still cannot) launch it at all. I cannot also launch Abi from the memory stick with a separate Portable Platform installation. Reboot does not help. This tells me that the problem is with some settings on the laptop that Abi changed/corrupted - the memory stick with Abi works fine on a different computer. I thought that portable appl.

Sunbird: Portable iTunes Alternative

Submitted by MunkeyB on June 7, 2010 - 2:09pm

Hello All,
I've been using Portable Apps for a long time however this is the first post I am making on these forums.

I need an Portable iTunes Alternative program that will work with both mp3s and mp4s. ITunes has updated and deleted all of my information six times already. I lose everything! The music stays in the program but I lose all of my podcasts and all of the videos I have listed as TV shows and any music videos I have are moved to the Movies folder and the track, episode, and title data I spend time filling out disappears.

Virus in AbiWord?

Submitted by pemar on May 30, 2010 - 2:17pm

I have installed PortableApps suite light. During installation Norton Internet Security detected and removed pluginlatex.dll file from plugin folder in AbiWord. It has classified it as Suspicious.Cloud Heurestic Virus.

I have run this file through Virus Total - no other virus engine detects it except TrendMicro which calls it positive PAK_Generic.001

I assumed it is false positive and have written email to Symantec about it.

AbiWord 2.8.2 can not lanuch from PortableApps.com Suite

Openoffice, Abiword and Cornice fail to launch. This situation looks pretty similar to yours.
After I click Abiword icon, the following applications were launched in the background successively.

1, AbiWordPortable.exe
2, C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntvdm.exe -f -i3 -o

And then these application terminate, nothing happen in the foreground.

Sunbird: Where is info?

Submitted by Beastcool on February 8, 2010 - 2:05pm

The problem is that I had created some calendars and dates, and I didn't close a program for a couple of days on my PC. Then the electricity came off and PC rebooted, and when I had started a Sunbird, all info has gone.
Can be there a possible way to restore all the info I had?
