Thanks to the excellent advice from John T. Haller I was able to transfer my large calibre portable library into the portableapps version of calibre portable. Unfortunately, Malwarebytes is convinced that calibrePortable.exe is ransomware (Malware.Ransom.Agent.Generic) and keeps quarantining it. Can anyone explain this behaviour before I make an exception in Malwarebytes?

I have been using calibre portable for many years and have successfully moved from drive to drive and computer to computer. I was wondering what the difference is between the Official Portable release and the portableapps.com release. I want to move my libraries to my portableapps.com drive and was wondering if it is possible to just copy the data to that folder or will I break it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I wanted to report a bug in the Sumatra PDF Portable Launcher. Upon closure, NSIS remnants having names similar to nsuXXXX.tmp are left in the Windows Temp folder. Could you please correct this, thank you.

GnuCash 5.3 for Windows from gnucash.org on Windows 10 allows report and check printing. GnuCash Portable 5.3 for Windows on Windows 10 fails to print reports and checks on the same machine. GnuCash Portable 5.3 generates no visible message/error when attempting to print a check and nothing is listed in the Windows 10 printer management interface. When attempting to print a report with GnuCash Portable 5.3 I see a dialog with the GnuCash Portable 5.3 icon in the upper left corner and the message states "Error from StartDoc".

This seems to be a signature/hash error, probably because the portable version number jumped from 6.0.23 to 6.0.26, whereas the official Zotero released 3 versions in 2 days (see https://www.zotero.org/support/changelog).

So please fix it & re-upload. Many thanks.

yesterday Stickies Portable (sticky notes) 10.1d Rev 2 was released.

The error message is in german. Unfortunately I cannot post the screenshot here.

Its aboput a "mdb2db.exe" in the path "Portable\PortableApps\StickiesPortable\Data\".
This application could not be started because the side-by-side configuration is invalid. For more information, see the Application Event Log. You can also view more details using the sxstrace.exe command-line tool.

I'm kind of overwhelmed.

PNotes Portable (as of Mar 2023) renders wrong note colors, especially when installed to removable drive

OS: Win 10 Ent x64 / Win 11 Pro x64 (default OS appearance, no customization)
Install path: removable drives or local disk (different results described below)
Install type: new, via PA.c Platform or independently (both tried)

Original PNotes from sf.net: Wherever it's installed, notes have yellow background and black font by default. Changing the colors (background/text font/caption font) takes immediate effect (no need to restart PNotes).

As noted when Calibre was in the portableapps dev...my calibre portableapps install creates a C:\Users\*usrname*\AppData\Local\calibre-cache folder where it caches opened book data.

Is this still a normal thing for this to happen or do I need to reinstall Calibre Portable?

If that is the case...is there any know procedure to store this information elsewhere?

When I try to run the Qalculate app, nothing appears to happen. In the Windows Applications event log, I see the following:
