[Fixed] PNotes Portable color display/change issue

Submitted by eaofpzaidr on March 30, 2023 - 2:34pm

PNotes Portable (as of Mar 2023) renders wrong note colors, especially when installed to removable drive

OS: Win 10 Ent x64 / Win 11 Pro x64 (default OS appearance, no customization)
Install path: removable drives or local disk (different results described below)
Install type: new, via PA.c Platform or independently (both tried)

Original PNotes from Wherever it's installed, notes have yellow background and black font by default. Changing the colors (background/text font/caption font) takes immediate effect (no need to restart PNotes).

[Fixed] calibre-cache left behind

Submitted by mrw2day on March 2, 2023 - 10:02am

As noted when Calibre was in the portableapps calibre portableapps install creates a C:\Users\*usrname*\AppData\Local\calibre-cache folder where it caches opened book data.

Is this still a normal thing for this to happen or do I need to reinstall Calibre Portable?

If that is the there any know procedure to store this information elsewhere?

Zettlr tries to wirite in %userprofile%\OneDrive\Documents

Submitted by Der777 on October 6, 2022 - 10:43am

I have enebled the windows feature 'controlled folder access' (In ransomware security) which denies write access to most destinations until I whitelist the app or the folder. When I start zettlr portable, it tries to write something to %userprofile%\OneDrive\Dokumente which is denied by windows and the zettlr app is aborting its own startup.

I believe zettlr portable MUST NOT write anything to my systems documents folder automatically. It should stay on its installation medium

Author of zettlr said, he is not responsible for the portable apps integration:

Zoomit Portable has a bug causing auto update failures (new installations also fails)

[Fixed] Fill and Sign not available in Foxit Reader 11.2

Submitted by dsl101 on April 29, 2022 - 6:06am

It seems that Foxit merged Ink Signing and their eSign service. I can understand why eSign would not be available in the PA, as it requires a local service to run. But without the UI for it, it doesn't seem possible to switch to Ink Sign.

The full app appears to use the following Reg entry to control which version of signing is active:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Reader 11.0\plugins\FoxitSign]
