ClamWin: Keeps saying I've never created virus db

Submitted by T4shie on March 15, 2013 - 12:29pm

Hello everyone!

I've used Clamwin portable for quite some time now and I've installed in a new pen drive. It was all good, but, for some reason, everytime I run CWP it says "You have not yet downloaded Virus Definition Database. Would you like to download it now?". I have said yes to it at least 6times. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, but it happened the same...

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks!

KeePass 2

Submitted by RamboJunior on February 20, 2013 - 5:00am

Hi,

I've just copied the KeePass2 portable files to X:\PortableApps\KeePassPortable\ , and my problem is the KeePass v1 exe is originally called KeePassPortable.exe but KeePass v2 exe is called KeePass.exe if I rename it to KeePassPortable the V2 plugins are not working at all, how can I modify the PortableApps menu to open KeePass.exe by default?

Thanks is advance!

Zoltán

ClamWin: FreshClam CLI problem editing log file

Submitted by BungieCord on November 8, 2012 - 3:37pm

I have a thumb drive I use as a mobile maintenance and repair aid that also has ClamWin Portable on it. I don't run ClamWin as the primary AV on any of my PCs so I run FreshClam from command line to keep the ClamWin antivirus definition databases on the thumb drive updated. Sometime in the last few weeks the updates started failing. Dunno if it's significant but I notice the freshclam.exe file happens to be dated 1 October 2012.

The ClamWin is v0.97.6. The failure is occurring on both WinXPSP3 and Win7SP1. The command line I'm using is:

KeePass: Keypass leaving files behind?

Submitted by Bindlestiff on September 19, 2012 - 8:45pm

I thought I would give Keypass a look and installed in on an external drive under a conventional PortableApps installation. After running the program (and not being able to successfully import a file from PasswordSafe Sad ) I found files left on my C drive in:

C:\users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent items\

(xxxxx is the name of my computer)

I would appreciate any comments on this as well as how PasswordSafe files might be imported.

ClamWin: compress local database

Submitted by bill125 on September 11, 2012 - 11:18pm

Howdy
the online updates make the db very large-I asked at camwin forums and they suggested to change this: CompressLocalDatabase = yes in the ClamWin.conf file.
There are 2 of those files 1 in data/settings and 1 in app/defaultData/settings is that option in either of those files and or can I add it? I am using the program locally in folder PortableApps.
Thanks
Bill
