ClamWin: Dealing w/ worm on desktop

Submitted by prr on November 23, 2011 - 10:50am

There is a worm (conficker)that keeps infecting a desktop I plug my USB drive into. I see portable apps has ClamWin and Spybot. What would be the best solution for me to keep my usb drive clean? I'm not trying to clean up the desktop--that has been done in the past and someone keeps re-infecting it. I just wanna shield my own usb drive. I'm tired of plugging it back into my laptop and getting that message again.

ClamWin: NO HAY FILE .exe

Submitted by DAVINSKY on November 4, 2011 - 8:26pm

SEGUN EL SOPORTE TECNICO DE COMO EMPESAR A UTILIZAR "CLAMWIN PORTABLE" DICE QUE HAY QUE DARLE DOBLE CLICK AL ARCHIVO PortableClamWin.exe PERO EN LA INSTALACION EN MI DRIVE USB NO APARECE ESE ARCHIVO

Using ClamWin Portable

To start up ClamWin Portable, just double-click PortableClamWin.exe file where you installed Portable ClamWin on your portable drive. Then, use it just like you would a local copy of ClamWin.

NO SE COMO ACTIVARLO.

KeePass: cdm:// drive letter change for different usb ports/computers

Submitted by Stormfollower on October 7, 2011 - 8:09pm

when taking the usb drive to different computer the drive letter frequently changes. I like to run some of the apps on the PA drive using KeePass to keep track of the passwords I've assigned. How on the command line do I get it to recognize the current drive letter of the PA USB drive?

portable version for KeePass 2.16

Submitted by tapsklaps on August 6, 2011 - 8:18am

For me it is not quite comprehensible way, why no portable version is available from KeePass 2.16. It may now be countered, that .NET Framework must be installed on the computer. And in addition, still presented the argument, that .NET-based apps will not work on most public PCs (net cafe, hotel business center, library, etc) as these PCs generally run Windows XP and do not have .NET installed.

ClamWin 97.1 portable picks up a virus in itself.

Submitted by Frank D. Hubeny on June 21, 2011 - 8:25am

Good Morning Group;

The last two versions of ClamWin portable seem to pick up a virus in itself when scanning.

I do not get this when I make a portable ClamWin from the instructions on ClamWin's site. I wonder if this is not do to something that is done like compression when the portable version is made.

I should have written the message down. It is the only thing ClamWin picks up as haveing a virus on my PC's.
