i cant download a antivirus data base
i searched for this but no result. here is a new trojan, that uses nearly 100% of CPU. it's shown as activexdebugger32.exe at the task manager. clamwin and NOD32 didn't dedect it any idea about how to delete it completely?
I'm using computers on my university's network, which run Sophos Anti-virus. They've suddenly decided that most of my portable apps contain the Mal/Behav-128 malware. I tried downloading and installing ClamWin Portable.
Just installed Portable ClamWin. Updating Virus definition failed. Would appreciate any solution. Here's the log
Could not start process:
".\freshclam.exe" --stdout --datadir="..\..\..\Data\db" --config-file="c:\docume~1\admini~1\locals~1\temp\tmpceelyg" --log="c:\docume~1\admini~1\locals~1\temp\tmpxegafb"
Error: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I've just loaded KeePass portable and the Apps suite onto a USB stick. Also on the stick are well over 100 Roboform passcards. Is it possible to convert them and import them into KeePass? I use Library and Internet cafe PCs fairly often and I would feel more secure if I could use the Firefox and KeePass that are on the stick. Manually converting 100 or more passcards with random passwords is just to daunting a task. Thanks zeb
Some people (including me) wanted to have an easy way to update their ClamWin Portable virus definitions. Today I had some spare time and I created "ClamWin PortableUpdater".
Just save it as a nsi file ihn your \PortableApps\ClamWinPortable\Other\ClamWinPortableSource folder, compile it and put the exe in your \PortableApps\ClamWinPortable\ folder. It will show up in the Menu as "ClamWin Portable Updater" and update your definitions and then exit.
Hope you like it.
criticism/questions/hints welcome
Anybody else notice that the new version of ClamWinP takes a lot longer than the old version? The last time I ran a Full drive scan [From the Harddrive on the Harddrive] with the old version it took about 45 min. Now it takes about an hour and a half.
I'm assuming this has to do with ClamWin itself.
Anybody using the desktop version to compare to?
It seems like the skip non-executables is not working as well as before.
Tim
I currently have this set-up in my autorun.inf on my portable device:
shell\scan=Run AV Scan
shell\scan\command=PortableApps\ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin\clamscan.exe --database=..\..\..\Data\db\main.cvd --remove --recursive C:\
This part
PortableApps\ClamWinPortable\App\clamwin\bin\clamscan.exe --database=..\..\..\Data\db\main.cvd --remove --recursive C:\
I attempted to scan a single Real media file (.rmvb) and the program sat for a few seconds then brought up the usual scan completed message, only with the number of files scanned and total size of scanned files both listed as 0. It does not seem to have any problem with other file types, and the results are the same when scanning individual files or whole directories. I was using the current version (0.90.2.1) with up to date definitions. It was running from my computer's hard drive in the location to which it was originally extracted, and it was a clean install, not an upgrade.
I want to be able to use the Convey shortcut menu (Send to) to scan a single file or folder.
Can someone advise what command I need write for the Clamwin shortcut to do this?
Hope that is clear ...
