Firefox Portable

Hi,

I am having a problem with portable firefox, recently, the last week or so, when I have a couple of windows open it flips from the window I'm looking at to the other.

Please keep any answers as simple as possible as I am not that computer literate.

i've set browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to false and now i can close the last tab with middle mouse button but the close button is still missing

i have an annoying problem with my installation of ff portable. on my desktop pc, where i create the portable version all works fine, but when i start it on a test laptop, the browser always opens the plugin window.

does anybody have a solution or knows what the problem might be ?

When installing a new portable version over an existing one, are the about:config settings preserved?

What about the move from 3.0 to 3.5 once they are in the same folder?

Does someone know how to disable or temporary override the autocomplete function in the FF 3?

In FF2x it was temporary disabled when shift key was pressed, in the FF3 this seems not to work any more.

Can this be completely switched off?

Apologies in advance for a rather basic query.

My Grandparents have been having a few problems with IE on their Desktop PC. I was planning to download portable firefox so they can see whether they get on with FF any better before eventually doing a “proper” install of the program. I wasn’t going to use the launcher, just run portable FF off the internal hard drive of the PC with a shortcut on the desktop. I just wanted to double check that using portable Firefox this way over an extended period of time was ok and wouldn’t cause any problems? Thanks

I am distributing a web site on CD for some users who need to use it in environment where they do not have internet access.

The protection mode in Internet Explorer prevents it from accessing local flash files, so I can't allow the user to open the site off the CD in Explorer as it simply won't work.

I am currently experiencing some crash problem with Firebug extension on Firefox, so I want to see if I can install and run portable Firefox on the same system with only the Firebug extension. I wish to have both the regular Firefox and portable Firefox running at the same time, is this possible? Thanks.

To get firefox portable to work i need to find out my school's network proxy settings from IE. All The options in IE are blocked and i need a way to get hold of them.

can I (or better: someone) create an "unbranded" Firefox Portable?
e.g. that firefoxportable.exe becomes ABACUS.exe und firefox.exe CONNECT.exe or anything And no file that has *portableapps* included into filename.
In summary there should be a firefox portable, that in invisible for e.g. filescans. that it couldn't be found.
