Firefox 3 & Firefox 2

Submitted by Cassandra on June 30, 2008 - 11:48am

What if I use Firefox 3 Portable and Firefox 2 Portable at the same time? Will they be able to work independently from each other at the same time? Is that possible? Anybody of you ever tried this? I know that 2 instances of the same version can not work at the same time. But what if I use 2 different versions at the same time? Would they work properly?

Using clear private data on exit

Submitted by RichA on June 29, 2008 - 6:01pm

I use to experience this on 2x of FF Portable, and it is still there (albeit more so) in FF3.
Anyway, I have FF set to clear private data on exit, but about 50% of the time, after the Clear Private Data dialog box appears after closing the browser; and I choose "clear private data", the window just sits there for about 30 sec., it will eventually close, but after re-opening the browser, the clear private data window will appear like I ended task on FF Portable (which I hadn't), and FF actually didn't clear anything. After then choosing clear private data FF Portable will open.

Issue with Firefox and Add-ons

Submitted by infestedtassadar-117 on June 28, 2008 - 2:39am

I'm more then sure this issue has been answered a 100+ times so here goes

I updated ff3 over the top of ff2.x and tried to update the add-ons/themes. Noticed that once I closed the browser, all the updates (both add-ons and themes) were basically rolled back to before they were updated. Without being updated, nun of the add-ons and/or themes worked with ff3.

Also tried downloading a fresh copy of ff3 portable, without any luck. Tried installing the FoxyTunes 3.0.2 add-on and once the browser was closed, the add-on vanished.

hy,

i don't speak well english, sorry for my errors...

after runing a portable application, the process of the launcher(example FirefoxPortable.exe) stay in taskmgr and consumes unnecessarily memory.
is there a parameter who kills it automatically ?
