have been running firefox off my usb key for some time now without a problem and today i try to load it up and it won't start. Last night when I started had some extensions that required updating so I thought that may be the problem, so after downloading it again and reinstalling it I tried to run it still with nothing the starting logo comers up and thats all. I looked in the task manager and firefox shows there briefly while the startup screen appears and then thats it anyone got any ideas whats going on.

Need Help With Mozilla Firefox

Hey Guys just ran into some trouble with the firefox portable in P Apps.
when i start firefox it gives me this message:

Firefox is already running, but not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing firefox process, or restart your system.

1. Firefox is not running when this message appears not even the process.
2. So this leaves me with restarting the system. Even after restarting i face the same problem.

local index.html as default home page?

Hello,
Just setup Firefox Portable on a new 16GB USB Flash Drive in the F:\FirefoxPortable folder as default.

Copied the F:\FirefoxPortable\Other\Source\FirefoxPortable.ini to F:\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.ini and set AllowMultipleInstances=true. This is required for me since the different systems I'll be using typically already have a heavily running local Firefox process running already and cant be closed. This is now working nicely and both processes run fine.

Firefox Portable like Opera Portable?

Submitted by limextreme on November 8, 2007 - 12:39am

I was just wondering if there has been a version of Firefox Portable that has been made to store temporary files in the system and deletes them (securely by overwriting) after using

I've been using Opera Portable (http://kejut.com/operaportable) which does just that. Before loading the browser, it sort of extracts the settings stored (like bookmarks, widgets, history, session, etc.) and loads it and once you end your session, it deletes it (overwriting and deleting for security). Because of this, the browser isn't sluggish during the session.
