Firefox Portable does not default to HTTPS and HTTP links
When I click on a link http or https Firefox opens a new instance or I want it to open the link in a new tab
I did check the "open in a new tab rather than a window" box.

When I click on a link http or https Firefox opens a new instance or I want it to open the link in a new tab
I did check the "open in a new tab rather than a window" box.
These show up when Im in the browser, no issue, but they refuse to make any sound (in any situation) or show up when Im in another app in windowed fullscreen.
Is there any workaround/solution for this? I would hate to have to run another browser as well, but I really need the notifications to work properly (I have several tabs that notify me of information that I need in a timely fashion).
Under App there is
Firefox
Firefox64
If I downloaded the 64 bit version why is the 32 bit version here? Can I delete it safely? If one uses a 64 bit system why would anyone want a 32 bit program running if there was a 64 bit one available?
I had to go into Control Panel, Default Programs and switch change a lot of the programs that were still using the 32 bit program. Took quite a while.
Portable Flash player does not work in last updates, before it worked well.
It does not show show in plug ins
I tried copy flash files in "CommonFiles\Plugins", and also into "\FirefoxPortable\Data\Plugins" and no result.
Please test it, and tell if it works on your system:

Thank you
It's not the first time now that e.g. after a Windows update and a restart of the system, Firefox Portable has automatically opened after reboot. I have checked with Sysinternals Autoruns but could not find any reason for that.
I'm using v.72.0.1 on Win10x64, but it happened with versions before that too.
firefox is offering to update itself, outside of the portableapps app. while browsing with firefox i received a notification window informing me to restart to update firefox. i allowed it to update itself and when it restarted it gave me an XPCOM error (couldn't load). i will reinstall to fix it, so no worries. just wished to inform you that firefox is updating itself (i have seen this on my laptop/other computer as well, but the laptop update was successful without the xpcom error).
cheers.
1. Understandably, there is a delay in the release of new versions of Firefox Portable compared with Firefox regular, so my portable installation nags me to update before the update is available here, and offers to update for me (but, I'm pretty sure, it thinks it's a regular install and wouldn't work). I usually ignore it, but today it occurred to me that maybe upgrading that work might work? Or is it better to continue to wait until the new version (in this case 72.1) is available here?
Like many others, I suddenly got a notice on the Options page "Your browser is being managed by your organization" and when clicked it opens an Active policy "AppUpdateURL "http://127.0.0.1/" and "DisableAppUpdate true". Documentation link opens a long list of Policy Names
Hi folks,
in "about:preferences" firefox tells me in german "Der Browser wird durch Ihre Organisation verwaltet." (in english "The browser is administrated by your organisation").
This means, that i.e. it does not (since they disabled it)
- use my saved accounts to login to sites.
- allow to update to the most recent version.
I understand that this is important for the (ESR) release that my company automatically installs, but I would expect a portable release to be able to ignore those corporate settings.
Hello,
I'm trying to use an addon called Scrapbee with Firefox portable v71.
This addon uses the Native Messaging Hosts parameters to refer a JSON. On Windows, this is usually done through the registry with the following keys :
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\scrapbee_backend
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\scrapbee_backend
