Submitted by ConraDarg0 on August 31, 2007 - 4:33am

Can I install TorPark and use it with PortableApps? I found a LOT of comments on TorPark when searching the forum, but no concrete information on the subject - it was all just a big mess...

Using Java Portablizer with Firefox Portable

Submitted by hands on August 29, 2007 - 9:56am

There are specific instructions for use and a link to get the Java Portablizer in conjunction with OOoPortable. Now that Java can be made somewhat portable, it would be beneficial for FirefoxPortable to also use the portable version.

Is anything being done about this? I realize that Firefox currently looks for a registry entry, but it would be beneficial if this behavior could be modified.

Firefox and Thunderbird - access denied?

Submitted by ConraDarg0 on August 29, 2007 - 7:36am

Hey everyone!

I brought PortableApps to work today mainly because the Adobe Reader I have installed here cannot open anything that contains Japanese letters, which Sumatra PDF Portable was able to fix *yay* Smile

Unfortunately, something seems to be blocking Firefox Portable and Thunderbird; the fist application giving me an Access denied ("FW-1 at cid-ext-b") error while the second just eventually times out of after trying to connect to the server.

How do tabs work?

Submitted by fergus on August 28, 2007 - 7:25am

I'm confused.

I can't work out how to control the following, if indeed it can be controlled.

When clicking on a link in a web page, the new page appears either (i) in a new tab or (ii) in the existing tab, replacing the current page, which is then recoverable using BackArrow. Tools -> Options -> Tabs -> bullet "new tab", which is my setting, does not seem to guarantee (i).

I have no idea which of (i) and (ii) is going to happen in any given instance.

Is there a way of always getting behaviour (i)? (Or for that matter always getting behaviour (ii)?)

webmail notifier

Submitted by jremy on August 27, 2007 - 11:18am

Hello,

I use portables applications on an usb-disk.
I would use webmail-notifier ( a firefox extension ) for check my mail on differents mailboxes. No problem for installation, when Firefox start, webmail-notifier is also running, the problem is that when You make settings for your mailboxes, I suppose a file containing mailboxname/login/password is created but not stored on the USB-HD.
This setting must be created every time and this is not very usefull...
How to do for keep informations on the USB-HD ?

Thanks to everybody...

FF Portable - BSOD

Submitted by JPedrosa on August 27, 2007 - 9:11am

Hi,
I've been using the latest version of FF portable 2.0.06 on my laptop from work to avoid "installation permissions" issues.

but I'm having a very strange issue.

when connected to the office lan, everything works perfect.
When connected to the 3G card, after some minutes of browsing, i get a nice BSOD Smile

I've run some tests against memory to clear this item from the "faulty hardware" list in my head, the test is ok.
I've tried the same thing with IE, and the PC does not crash.

i've tested in battery mode and power cable mode.

let me know any tests i can do.
