Firefox Portable

I am running Firefox Portable with RunLocally=true because I have Firefox Portable set up on a file server, and multiple people will be accessing it from different workstations. I have it set to true to it will copy it locally to their workstation so changes will not be made to Firefox Portable on the file server.

I am having a problem opening links in new tab from a new process. I have -new-tab set on the AdditionalParmaters line to open new links in a new tab.

Here are the steps I am doing to try and get this to work.

1. Run firefoxportable.exe http://www.yahoo.com

Hi, was wondering, I have a Sandisk USB, I used to have U3 on it and Firefox was perfect.

I removed the U3 drive and got portable apps and now firefox(and chrome) are near unusable, I've used every trick in the book with settings etc but it's incredibly slow, it will hang for 30 seconds, let me click something, hang for 20 seconds, let me use firefox for 50 seconds, youtube wil freeze up, simply it's freezing up over and over.

Does anyone know why, or any setting, as I said same USB, same computer with U3 worked perfect.

I get the full page and all resources. "Reload current page" and Firefox 8.0.0 will not request the resources, nor will it fetch any cached resources.

I get the full page and all resources. "Reload current page" and Firefox 8.0.0 will display any resources in the cache after getting a 302 response.

This is observed with LiveHTTPHeaders 0.17.

However, RequestPolicy shows requests for these resources being made and not blocked.

I have grown weary of the monthly new versions that that have nothing different that
a higher version number. I was able to change my desktop back to 6.01 as I had a copy
of that on my hard disk. My question is: Where Can I Get a Copy of Either V5 or V6
Portable ? I think that five and six were the last versions that worked for me.

Firefox 8.0 portable (localization Italian), using both executables "FirefoxPortable.exe" and ".\App\Firefox\firefox.exe"

> Help menu > About Firefox > shows "Firefox 8.0 [...] channel release"

>> Check Updates > shows "Firefox is updated"

..but release 8.0.1 is avaible on Mozilla servers and portable package is already avaible...

So why does firefox portable write allways stuff to C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming.
How can i prevent this. When i delete this directory firefox crashs.

Is it possible to downgrade the portable version of firefox. i'v googled the links but couldn't find any. is it possible to get some on portableapps.com?

Here's way to make firefox portable for windows and linux (native, not wine) with same profile.

First make 4 folders for Firefox on your hard drive like:

D:\FirefoxBrowser
D:\FirefoxBrowser\Linux
D:\FirefoxBrowser\Windows
D:\FirefoxBrowser\Profile

Now let's install Firefox. Download Firefox installer for windows(exe) and linux(tar.gz) and save them. Open windows(exe) installer in 7-Zip and extract all files from core folder to FirefoxBrowser\Windows folder so firefox.exe is saved in path like:

D:\FirefoxBrowser\Windows\firefox.exe

I've been using Firefox Portable for several years now as my "primary" browser regardless of what machine I use it on with great success. My question is related to using the 64 bit version of Firefox (which I do presently use with the Firefox Portable runtimes or whatever they're called).
